I ordered the Stellar phono pre. It has some big shoes to fill :grin:, but, I’m hopeful.

The Stellar arrived yesterday. I hooked it up this morning. First impressions:

  1. Excellent build quality
  2. No hum, hiss, or any noise issues
  3. A lot heavier than it looks
  4. Setup was easy
  5. Great remote
  6. Custom loading is a great feature

Initial SQ is very good. The Herron sound is warmer; Stellar sound is more detailed. Now if I can just sneak a BHK 250 into the house, I’ll be good to go :grin:! On a serious note, I’m very impressed with the Stellar. I’d grown accustomed to the Herron sound; the Stellar sound is different but not in a bad way.

I’m listening to Sade, “Diamond Life” one of my all time favorite albums and artists. I’m hearing subtle passages better and the sound is quite “musical” even at this early stage. I’m thinking it can only get better.
