What maximum sr should I set my Pure Music for, 352.8 ?
As long as you are using FW6115 that should be right as one of the changes in that firmware was to support 352.8.
stevem2 said As long as you are using FW6115 that should be right as one of the changes in that firmware was to support 352.8.Thks, got DSD working, once set up no more changes it appears to play diff kind of files, nice, SQ nice too, very stable so far. BTW amarra is about to offer their DSD player plus several other improvements. The Amarra sQ looks interesting.
‘Amarra 3.0 includes a range of new features and updates that define a new benchmark for quality and innovation. New features include DSD playback, real-time sample rate conversion, a new noise elimination feature called, Amarra Clarity, and iRC(b) impulse response correction designed to control bass anomalies in listening rooms. Sonic Studio also introduced a new streaming application called Amarra sQ that enhances the quality of experience for all Internet content services. Targeted for delivery in June, the combined feature set of Amarra version 3.0 plus the new Amarra sQ streaming application delivers the most significant release of Amarra to date.’
Interesting. Thanks for the heads up roger. It seems there are more and more choices available for the Mac (I understand Pure Music, Amarra, Audirvana, BitPerect, etc., have been around for some time but they all seem to be catching up on features like DSD).

I’ve played with BitPerfect a bit but had issues with my 2009 Mac Mini with DSD files (which had worked with a different Mini) and never got around to really trying to fix it. Gordon really likes Audirvana Plus. I’m mostly using JRMC19 Mac (and foobar2000 with a PC and the Bridge), primarily because I don’t like the iTunes/Apple Remote interface that much. Do any of these things have their own interfaces and work with other control points?
Btw, I like your (two-channel) speaker choice.

Yes I tried A+ but tad too bright/ detailed for my liking, had JR for a yr but continued to crash, I don’t think it ran well with my 10.6 os. I do like iTunes interface but some files get ‘corrupted’ too often it seems. Don’t know about other players with Amarra or PM, but Amarra has an ‘Add Finder’ that takes you out of iTunes, and from a Finder/Playlist you can put a playlist together. Never tried other control points with either, I actually like the Mac Remote app on my iPad.
Believe I once commented on your’s too, I’m waiting for my dealer to get the new Sasha’s to audition.

A+ has the same feature and is what I use for focused listening. If you have not tried it since the added “plus” version, there is a big difference in the SQ from the previously iTunes tethered version.
Damien is said to be working on a library manager.
Paul, you could contact him and see if the EMM library would be a good base and A+ for the front end.
Could be a good marriage.
How do you use the “add finder” feature of these programs? Do you have to do it at the computer itself (or another computer using screen sharing)? Can it be done with control point software?
Possibly of interest to streamers:

Might be something to look into. Thanks Gordon!

Can it be done with control point software?Steven, I do use the PocketCloud remote app, which is very stable, to view the desktop/Finder since there is no app for Amarra (other than the Apple one for iTunes). But on an iPad everything is small so I can't say it's especially easy or user friendly, so yes I often end up at my Mac. But give it a try you might like it.
Thanks Roger. I may do that one of these days. Now, if I could just get you guys to agree on which program sounds the best. But then that might only last until the next update cycle.
