Question about picking pre-amp between integrated & GCD

Hello everyone,

This is my first post and just purchased my first PS Audio equipment (GainCell DAC) via the refurbished sale last week. Hopefully someone can help me out especially for the folks who also owns an Accuphase integrated in this community.

What’s the best, or logical approach to connect the GCD to the integrated? I own the Accuphase E280 and its pre-amp is quite good already. I will receive my GCD sometime next week and I’m aware that I can choose the DAC enabled mode to line out to my integrated directly. What would you suggest? Currently, I use my external SMSL (AKM4499) as a DAC only to connect to my integrated.

Try it both ways. GCD, volume fixed and use the Accuphase volume control or the opposite.
Whatever sounds best.

Volume control on Accuphase is better in my case. Thanks.
