“Don’t drive like my brother”

“I do this real moron thing, and it’s called thinking. And apparently I’m not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions.” ~ George Carlin

“If everything is under control, you’re not going fast enough”
Mario Andretti
Evil flourishes when good men do nothing
I would add that you’re not a good man if you sit idly and do nothing, if you’re aware of the evil that exists.
Thank you for bringing us back to actual quotes.
Here is another:

I love this one!
I don’t love this one.
I don’t want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers
John D. Rockefeller
“If you think this Universe is bad, you should see some of the others.”
― Philip K. Dick
This one was a predictive quote.
“There will come a time when it isn’t ‘They’re spying on me through my phone’ anymore. Eventually, it will be ‘My phone is spying on me’.”
― Philip K. Dick
Reminds me of some of the other audio forums (which shall go un-named) but fortunately not here ![]()

“Control the oil, and you control nations. Control the food, and you control the people.” ~ Henry Kissenger
Both of those concepts are disturbing.

Reminded me of this now classic scene in “Three Days of The Condor” when Turner [Robert Redford] is confronted by Higgens [Cliff Robertson]:
Turner: Boy, what is it with you people? You think not getting caught in a lie is the same thing as telling the truth?
Higgins: No. It’s simple economics. Today it’s oil, right? In ten or fifteen years, food. Plutonium. And maybe even sooner. Now, what do you think the people are gonna want us to do then?
Turner: Ask them.
Higgins: Not now — then! Ask 'em when they’re running out. Ask 'em when there’s no heat in their homes and they’re cold. Ask 'em when their engines stop. Ask 'em when people who have never known hunger start going hungry. You wanna know something? They won’t want us to ask 'em. They’ll just want us to get it for 'em!
It’s best to know how those people think so we can plan. It’s like chess with some of them. They are aloof to the implications. It’s easy to say things like that from a Lear.
