Bigger question is what are you drinking?
Laphroaig Lore!
I also found Joshuaās reviews to be quite helpful in my research.
Thanks, I owned one this past summer. For the money, itās great. Against the SGC and the Burson Audio Conductor Reference, it was too cold and analytical. Underpowered a bit, too.
Thanks, Iāve looked at many of those, especially the RME. It seems to be an outstanding all-in-one-plus. However, there seems to be a common opinion it lacks musicality, and leans toward an artificial midrange and treble. Iāve noticed quite a few are hitting the used market, never a good sign for a relatively new product.
Why did you pass on the Audio-GD?
Joshuaās reviews are excellent. Heās honest, intelligent and carefully explains why he likes or dislikes something. He helped persuade me to get the Focals.
I did get the GD to go with the RME. Iād still like to try out a balanced tube amp - maybe this yearā¦
I noticed you considered Schitt gear in your list. Take a look at the Mjolnir 2, balanced ins and outs, easy to find ecc88 tubes and at 9w itāll drive anything. Had mine 2 years and still not tempted to get rid, the way it widens soundstage and the things it does to distorted guitars make it a keeper.
Thanks, but as I stated earlier, Iām not considering tubes.
Thanks, I will check that out. Iād love to try the Ifi iDSD Signature Pro also with selectable tube & SSā¦ few too many bucks thoā¦
