Successful speaker pairings with PS Audio amps

M700 paired with Vandersteen 2ce Signature II. Other amps I’ve tried were B&K (warm, slightly veiled, flabby bass) McCormack (better than the B&K in all respects) and Music Reference RM9 (very good, but I got tired of having to take it to the local tech guru every few years to replace failing caps and resistors). The M700 monos seem ideal with my Vandies-detailed but with no listener fatigue, big soundstage, tight and controlled bass. Several audio buddies have remarked that this is the best my speakers have ever sounded.

Just replaced a pair of older dynaudio bookshelf speakers with BMR Monitors for use with my new BHK250 (the amp had issues but PS Audio fixed it pronto - fingers crossed for long life!). I use a Rel s/510 and a PS Audio DS DAC paired with an Innuos streamer. Wow. Amazing detail, 3d sound stage, etc. Didn’t want to use a pre-amp but eventually might need to simply for more delicacy in volume adjustment (lowest 5 all the same vol and too high depending on if wife is home or not, etc)… Didn’t have that issue with the dynaudios although impedence for both is 4ohms. Had used B&W and dynaudio with solid state McIntosh amp before but find the BHK presents with incredible tube driven highs - absolute silk. And the bass reaches deep, has punch and pace, the Rel has alot to do with it but the BMRs simply out do the dynaudios and my previous B&Ws (804, for a bigger space) in delicacy, staging and detail. Great synergy. My speaker cables (Acrotec, bought in Japan) are 25 years old and havent found anything to beat them at any price no matter what I pair them with.

Are there any speakers with which PS audio amps do not work?

( Aside from obvious misparings such as a Sprout with large Maggies.)
