Testing my old HiFi, almost dumpster my S300 [clickbait title], How long before it came back?

Good Day,

I am testing, my old HiFi, now, for selling them.

Put my old Linn LK2 [Mosfet, class A, everything] the mini toaster, with weird XLR connection!

If I remember well, almost 45 minutes, and it started to bloom, Wow, very beautiful, it swing, bit agressive in the high, but it is a dancing amp. I didn’t change the tuning of the sub, I let the S300 tuning!

ok after 4hours of listening, I put the S300 back!

Ouch, Dull, no life, cheap sound, what’s wrong with it, nothing seems right!

it took almost 90minutes, until a part of the sound get back.

And this morning, it bloom again!

So how long, for your amp, to warm up and Deliver?

The S300, well 3:00hours!

So in Store,

Maybe plug and play, not really a good thing, maybe that’s why I hate so much the Strata, when I went listening it. It was cold out of the box, it was brand new [no burning]. They did not use the Strata DAC, they didn’t think it worth it, They put it on an awful Eversolo DAC.

I did a leap of fait with the S300, still don’t know, If it was a new or a trade, but anyhow, it play well in my place after a 3hours warm up!!!

Mine is a tube amp, the Decware SEWE300B, and it takes about an hour for it and the whole system to really be their best. Sounds slower and richer for the first thirty minutes or so, like an old school tube amp.

Thanks for the infos!

Today, I have listen my old 303 all afternoon! [Widow of my best friend gave it to me! he use to said never over my dead body! he should never said that, liver cancer, RIP my friend!].

I had forgotten that there a lot of honey in the sound of the 303! It has less bloom, but for an all original 303, this Gram Pa (66years old all original) is impressive!

For My Decware, another year to wait! lead time almost 3 years now!

Yes, it’s an awful thing that the wait is so long. But for me it has always been worth it.
