Top and best jazz of the 50's

Difficult picking a favorite Mingus from the 50’s as I enjoy each immensely.

Best cd or digital of that Mingus album? I WONDER if the sacd sound better than any cd edition?

That’s a one step MoFi LP I posted. CD and SACD are just meh in comparison. I also have any early pressing which also sounds pretty incredible.

I understand just wondered if i should go for the sacd or any other cd of that album?
Ps. Have you compare your lp needledrop (if you have one) to any cd or sacd?

I believe I answered it above. The LP is superior to the CD and the SACD.

That’s pretty much my list right there :slightly_smiling_face:
I do miss; Mingus Ah um and Wes Montgomery; Far Wes or Wes with Milt Jackson and ofcourse Sonny Rollins; The Bridge…but no problem

These are great but how about some nearly forgotten female jazz vocalists from the '50s? Two I like are Jane Fielding and Lucy Ann Polk. I don’t know if this fits with the topic given the recommendations so far. It’s another side of '50s jazz.
