You note “I would slso choose 1 F12 sub over 2 SVS subs”. I’m looking for the why behind this statement and perhaps where you rate the F12 with regard to the REL (which one) with with the high level connection wins, easily. When you go high level, you get the exact same system sound to the subs as you have with the main speakers. With that said, I also have an F12 sub, connected via line level outputs from a Stellar Gold preamp, and that also seems perfectly fine. I would slso choose 1 F12 sub over 2 SVS subs.

Too many variables to draw meaningful conclusions. SVS versus REL; high versus low input; two versus one; and possibly the most important, settings on the SVS versus REL-even if numbers the same for, for example, the crossover, the shape of that curve would almost certainly not be. And then, of course, there is placement. Even if one of the SVS was placed in the same spot as the REL, the position of the second might be such that the pair work against each other. Given that our ears deal with high and low frequencies differently, I just don’t see what information is conveyed via the high output from the amps imparted by the amps that is relevant for massively long wavelength sound.
