If you want traditional country, bluegrass and “mountain” music come to Floyd, VA next time. The Country Store downtown has music most every weekend and there’s loads of other venues nearby that are excellent and small like The Harvester in Rocky Mount. Lots of this type of music history here in the Blue Ridge and very friendly people.

RE: Radiohead “The Bends”. My elder son and I have endless debates about whether this or “OK Computer” is their best album. Fortunately, we don’t have to choose.

Qobuz. CD. With the old energy and initiative levels being a bit down this morning, I settled for one of my favourites, which I have posted a couple of times before. A shameless romp through the best-known bits of the Baroque catalogue, it sounds well and makes no demands of the listener other than smiles of recognition. They weren’t afraid to use a bass drum on occasion, which made my sub very happy. Enjoy!
