Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
Aye, looking at Peter Jones photo I remembered him from 60s TV show, The Rag Trade! Reg Varney, Babs Windsor, etc. Yes, many moons ago!!
This is an epic DTB show with great sound from a late lamented legendary venue in Upstate New York. I downloaded the show at Archive dot Org here and converted the lossless Shorten files to FLAC using dBpoweramp Music Converter.
This guy’s family was probably very disappointed in this album cover.
Yosi Horikawa - Vapor
Another album review by John DeVore. This one is a Japanese musician who makes electronic music that begins with “found sounds” a drip, pressing a cassette player button, etc - then sampling that, remixing it, and making it the core of a song. Really inventive and the soundstage is pretty spectacular. In the end, I’m left a little dry in connecting to it - but if you like electronic music, you might really dig it.
I liked the bit where Hitchhiker’s Guide creators decided they wanted a “Peter Jones type of voice”, and after 3 other people refused the part, they decided to actually ask Peter Jones.
This sounds so much like Douglas Adams’ writing I do wonder if it’s a myth from the time that’s made it into Wikipedia
Sounds a bit like Cornelius’ “Drop” in concept
oh you know, I get a bit of a Cornelius vibe from this… I had really forgotten about Cornelius! I like his album Fantasma
I only know “Point” so far, I shall look out for Fantasma
