I do love this album, but this version is just a bit too frenetic for me, the original recording is more my pace

I agree completely, having and preferring the 1974 DG box with Drumming, Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ, Six Pianos. Unfortunately the best I can do in a pinch is the later version, as the box set is elsewhere. I’ll add that DG box opened up a new world of music for me, basically waking my ears.
