This is a fairly new South African artist, SIO - Sarang

Very 70’s flower power mixed with modern R&B

A chestnut freshly re-minted in a new transfer to DSD256 from a 2-track tape by HDTT. I listen to the DXD since it is the edit master given some PCM post-transfer processing. YMMV depending on your DAC. (HERE) If you listen to vinyl and have the AP reissue, you don’t need this. But otherwise…

Back yet again today - it’s just such a good album. Ansermet just nails it.

Sir John Barbirolli and Sibelius – a glorious match. This 1959 recording by Pye Records is one of Barbirolli’s earlier recordings of this work, but all the magic is here. The transfer from a Vanguard pressing is perhaps not sonically the best of HDTT’s ongoing Vinyl Record Restoration series (it is no match for the Ansermet Rimsky-Korsakov above, for example), but it is a good transfer nonetheless and the performances are just delicious.
