Will Spotify ever stream Hi-Rez?

Qobuz currently does up to 192K, I believe, and is available now in the US, if one does a little research on how to get it.

I can only go on what the Qobuz people have told me.

I’m sorry, I thought you were asking if there would be Roon integration. I believe both parties have stated there will be.

No worries!

And boy does it sound better in every respect to Tidal. The official launch for the US is beginning of October.

Qobuz also has a far larger catalog of jazz.

It would be awesome if the Qobuz stream could be played through the Directstream. Just saying.

It can as I’m doing it right now.

It would help if you could elaborate.

MConnect has native support for Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify. If you have a Qobuz account all you have to do is select, sign in and play just like the other two.

Thanks. Qubuz is not available here yet but I’m looking forward to it. I play Spotify direct to Directstream using my iPad. I’m hoping PS Audio will set up Qobuz that way if possible.

How are you playing Spotify to the Ds? With Airplay or Mconnect? If by “here” you’re referring to the US then Qobuz has alway been available here you just had to use a temporary VPN to set it up.

I’d be happy with Apple Music at redbook! Wheres the MQA rumour coming from?

It’ll likely be possible through the McConnect app after October.

I have Spotify on a computer networked to bridgell which I control with the Spotify app on my iPad. Or, If your computer is close to your DAC you can connect computer to DAC via USB and control the music with the iPod app. I don’t use Mconnect.

Should work the same way then. As PSA and Converse had give us a way to use these streaming services through the provided software, MConnect, if we chose to do it differently then that is on us not them. Like many DS owners I am less than thrilled with the functionality of MConnect compared to the Lumin app or Lightning DS but for now it is what’s available and does work so I use it instead of adding extra pieces to the chain which give more chances for problems. I use dedicated streamers like the Bridge II and Lumin to get computers out of my audio chain and for simplicity.

Using mconnectControl(hd) and BubbleUPnP (my favorite, shared with Qobuz’s native app) streaming Qobuz Sublime+ via BridgeII flawlessly for years.

However… it would be very nice if Qobuz Connect finds BridgeII as compatible equipment in the next Bridge firmware update? :upside_down_face:

So you’ve done a/b testing between Tidal and Qobuz, and the sound quality is definitely better through Qobuz?

After years of using both Tidal(MQA) and Qobuz (HiRes) that is my conclusion anyways…
