Happy Cake Day! Is that a stealth dream 2020?
You and Greg @straightwire know how to celebrate your cake day!

Are they available wrapped in something that does not look like a carnival?

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There’s just something about this color pattern…not that Stealth’s wares will be within my budget any time soon…

Enjoy! (and looking forward to learning about your listening experience)

Looks like a V18 to me.

Cables don’t matter! Like food, wine and … yes that thing.

Which component will it power? How do you think to set the screws?

I’m trying it on the DS MkII first. Screws set to Digital. Except for my one Dragon which feeds the P20, I’m partial to Audience power cords. But I don’t have enough FrontRows to power everything, so I will see if this or a FrontRow is a better match for the MkII. Initial comparison last night tells me neither one is ā€œbetterā€ than the other. They are both very nice, just different. Both cords have hundreds of hours on them already. At this level of goodness it all comes down to synergy.

I know when something clicks and when something doesn’t. I should after almost 50 years focused on high end audio. My FrontRow MP is the right choice for the DS MkII, when comparing it to the Stealth Dream V18 UNI - for me, in my system, yada yada. It provides a combined sense of organic openness and spatial precision that the V18 just can’t quite match. In the MkII the V18 offers a slightly more interesting high frequency performance but the spatial precision isn’t as good. The feeling is slightly that of a ā€œwall of soundā€ compared to the FR. None of the detail is gone, it just isn’t quite as spatially precise. As always my use of words leans toward a bit of an exaggeration over what is heard in reality. My wife, who knows nothing of the technicalities of audio, also preferred the FR on the MkII. I tried moving the ring around on the V18. To me there was not enough of a significant change to alter the outcome.

The V18, OTOH, slew the power cord I was using on the HiFi Rose RS130. No contest. Better in every regard. In fact with the V18 on the RS130 and the FR on the DS MkII, the music on the streamer is virtually indistinguishably phenomenal from both it and my PST transport. To this point the PST was the preferred source. On the RS130 the V18 does not exhibit that (exaggerated language again) same sort of ā€œwall of soundā€ characteristic as it did with the MkII. As far as I’m concerned they are two great power cords, with their use in a given system being the final arbiter of whether either will be right.

Nice summary, and an alternate take on the Stealth Dream V18 PC. Again the term synergy pops up.

Cold out of their boxes the mkII and AL already sound more open, more full and more blackness then the mkI and Auralic Aries Femto via Matrix with Farad psu they replace.

Very curious how they’ll improve over the next week, they will run 24/7.

Thought I’d share this with you,

I too have a GyroDec (for 20 years), with SME arm

Mine is about the same age. Still with the same RB300 and Benz Ace L. Thinking of upgrading the SE with the new magnetic feet and springs. The psu upgrade is also high on my list as well as a new arm (SME?) and cartridge. While listening to the FR20’s for the first time today (WOW) I was also dreaming of the Stellar Phono……

The AirLens replaces a lot of boxes. Although I’m assembling a Roon Rock nuc and ordered a LHY-SW6 :joy:
