22 AWG Ethernet Cables by LinkUP

I just purchased a few of these new LinkUP ethernet cables in 22 AWG. I found them on Amazon, after seeing another discussion about them here in these forums. Amazon.com: LINKUP - [GHMT & DSX8000 Certified] Cat8 Ethernet Patch Cable S/FTP 22AWG Double Shielded Solid Cable | 2000MHz 2GHz 40Gbps | 5th-Gen Ethernet LAN Network 40G Structure Wires |Black| 3 M (10ft) : Electronics

These cables are like garden hoses, and really move the 1’s and 0’s! I bought these on Amazon, a little pricey, but after installing them and seeing and hearing the results, I would say this was a fantastic investment. Each cable comes with a data sheet, and each data sheet was dated and different. So, these cables are tested and do deliver. I believe they are made in Canada and the USA.

I also upgraded my cable from the Comcast entry to an RG11 coaxial cable, another garden hose to move the 1’s and 0’s. This is attached to my Motorola B12 modem, as I sent the Comcast modem back. I have one of the LinkUP cables attached to my TP-Link router and another out to my LHY switches. And even more in that space attaching to my A/V gear.

Here is the RG-11 cable, I found on Amazon… Amazon.com: THE CIMPLE CO 30 Feet - RG-11 Coaxial Cable F Type Cable High Definition with RG11 Coax Compression Connectors - (Black) : Electronics

Now, was there any benefit to this expense? Yes, most certainly! I have 300 mbps Comcast service, $25 a month. I got lucky! Yes, internet speeds on FAST and speedtest.net are now hitting 390 - 400+ mbps consistently vs 290 - 320ish.

The TV stream is so much cleaner and vivid. I use the Roku Ultra and a BuzzTV U5 HDR Android box. I also added the LHY SW8 and SW6 network switches, and have the isolated SW6 port connected to my Volumio Rivo streamer. The results are a livelier, more natural sound, at least to our ears. We both heard a sound improvement, for what it is worth.

The tell, is the improved internet speeds and the TV picture quality. You cannot say that is all in my head. I would give these LinkUP cables a serious look, along with upgrading the RG6 to RG11 if possible in your household.

I was intrigued by the Linkup cables so I ordered one on Amazon. They never shipped it to me so I never had a chance to try it. It is a good looking cable!

I have the Lions and Washington game on, streaming, and what a difference! Prior, with standard Amazon UGreen Cat8 cable, which I thought was darn good, night and day! With the UGreen cable installed, the picture would blur or pixilate when the plays were running, not always, but often enough. Now, this is like watching HD OTA with a quality antenna. If you stream football, or any other fast moving action, get these LinkUP cables.

These cables are incredible! I am watching the Lions right now, I’m in Detroit, and it has been a long time. I stream using an android box, and prior to these cables, the picture would freeze up at least a few times, or more, per quarter. So far, 5 minutes into the third quarter, not one freeze up, this is a first. It has to be the LinkUP cables, and possibly the RG11 coax. Very Happy! Go LIONS!

Ok, I have the LHY SW8, SW6 and the FMC… I purchased a generic LC to LC fiber optic cable on Amazon to use between the FMC and SW6. Today, I received a Corning Glass fiber optic cable and installed it between the FMC and SW6.

We are sitting here listening to Miles Davis, Kind of Blue. The first track is “So What”, great tune. We listened to it a couple of times with the generic fiber optic cable and than switched over to the Corning Glass cable. I had to pull the Corning, it was very detailed, in a good way in one respect, but not so much with the horns. It was rather harsh, and I had to pull the cable, the sound was not pleasing, which was surprising, especially with my tube buffer in between my DAC and amp.

This is over the network folks, before we even hit my Roon Nucleus One, which feeds a Volumio Rivo streamer. This really surprised me to say the least, this difference in overall sound quality from a fiber optic cable. Cables do matter.

These are the SFP transceivers I am using, Amazon.com: Finisar Industrial Temperature 1.25 Gb/s RoHS Compliant Long-Wavelength Pluggable SFP Transceiver FTLF1318P3BTL : Electronics

More than a few audiophile sites recommend these SFP transceivers for their sound. But the same guys recommend the Corning Glass fiber optic cables.

The FMC and SW6 were a worthwhile purchase, this rig has never sound this good. I would highly recommend both. Get an external clock, as that takes it up a few notches. This is the one I use, and it works, I cannot get over how these network improvements have enhanced the sound in a positive way. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802943951872.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.46.69411802adCH7B&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa
