Advice on improving system via upgrading digital source from a Win 10 device

Via USB, the DSD Sr., will always show 352kHz/24Bit regardless of what bitrate Amazon HD tracks are uploaded with. Audirvana has no Amazon HD plugin because that’s Amazon being :smiling_imp:.

I still think they are using Neil Young’s Xtreme Platform because his website also has no change in bitrate either.

I honestly can’t hear the difference between QoBuz & Amazon HD. I think it’s the “feel good” thing about watching the data rate change based on how they were uploaded to the site.

I would ditch the Desktop, then pick a good streamer (see the thread below), I personally like Innuos for feature/price combo, and control it via the app. Second thing is a GOOD USB cable to connect your streamer to your DAC. That’s it!

Most streamers have a web application you could use, also the streaming app (like Spotify) would have your streamer as an OUTPUT device, so you could launch Tidal on the laptop and output it to your Innuos, Node 2i, etc…

I suggest the following YouTube folks for steraming audio guides, reviews, info with TONS of good stuff!

He can stream it with a dedicated PC just like he’s doing now.

That’s what I do for Amazon. Music on my PC/Music & Video Server is accessed via Ethernet from my Sony UBP-X1000ES

So at this point, I have a Ryzen 5, 8G, SSD Laptop tweaked and running jRiver 24 and Amazon HD. I have asked my buddy at TMR to be on the lookout for a 2i. I’ll try both. I ordered a better USB cable as well. Nothing nuts but better than what I have. I have spent most of my time with hook up and set up etc. I will spend the next few days listening (finally!). No idea what is next but I’m not in dire need of any component changes. I even got feet for my Sr! (Isoacoustics). Thanks again to all for the input. I made some notes to keep for reference as the year goes on regarding what I may try at a later date. Also, based on what I have read, I see no need for Qobuz at this point. I can always do a trial if I get curious.
