Airlens via dCS Bartok

I have a dCS Bartok with buildin streamer.
I tried a Airlens as atreamer now and i was realy suprised the music quality was much better the buildin streamer in the Bartok.Even the Bartok have no I2s input, only rca and bnc…
Are other users with airlens with similar expierences with other streamers/dacs?

How are you connecting Bartok to AirLens?

AirLens does not have bnc or conventional rca output

Perhaps you used a digital cable with rca connectors

No only rca,i ment the bartok with bnc.
But it sounds much better with airlens then build in streamer in the bartok.
Normally the Airlens is better using i2s output.
I have a digital cable,one side rca-bnc…

It may sound ‘different’ but i doubt using Airlens with dCS Bartok betters the use of Bartok’s build in streaming module. Don’t know if your bartok is equipped with the apex upgrade, if not you better spend the money on the apex upgrade…

It,s a version with apex…

I agree with @wijber, it may sound different but doubt it’s better. Maybe you like the sound of additional distortion or jitter in your music?

Why the disdain for a voiced opinion?

Interesting question! I’ve seen the reports and feedback on dedicated streamers with dac modules that are suppposedly excellent (Taiko Olympus and Grumm mu2) but I’m hard pressed to recognize equivalent dedicated dacs with built in streamers. I never hear great things about the msb streamer, we all remember the ds dac senior bridge (for 2 disparate examples). I am curious to see how the PMG DAC with the integrated streamer will sound.

I am a proponent of optimizing the front end, dedicated streamers are getting better and better.

I’d be inclined to take your opinion on the sound seriously.
