MQA is a clear step backwards technically speaking.
You may very simply like a more analytical (I like to describe it as digital) sound. It may also be why you have a preference for MQA. It’s not for everyone but if it works… save your bucks and get better something else. Nothing wrong with that.
It could also be this. warm + warm can be too warm. I’m not saying the DS or the Prima Luna is “warm” but certainly warmer than the desgn goals of Toppping. The Topping might be so dry it compensates for a sound signature you don’t like in the Prima Luma where the DSJ enhances it.
