Anyone else order UpTone etherRegen? Percent improvement?

That is the only bad thing with this clock that it needs to be on all the time and it starts from scratch to improve every time it´s powered on/off and takes about a month to fully settle. Or so they say,we will find out later

Not easy to play with clock cables,dc cables or lps´s. Better to figure out what to use from the start and let it cook.

Mine has been on and running solid for almost a month now. Perhaps it has been a whole month. I shut it off when I put the Shunyata Sigma clock cable in place. Since adding the clock I have changed quite a few things so I am in the I don’t know position.

On my new Pink Faun I spent two times the price of the clock and power supply to upgrade the clock on the USB output bridge card. Clocks, basic clock, better clocks, top of the line clocks. Gosh.

Hi @watchdog507
Do you still use the factory supplied DC cables that with the HDPlex 300?

This OCXO clock seems to be very sensitive to vibrations. I just added a couple of IsoAcoustic footers under it and holy moly ! :sunglasses:

I’m still using factory cables in all 4 outlets. I have XLR’s and silver wire waiting for me as a project that I haven’t gotten around to.

I’d love to know how silver sounds in a DC cable.

Silver sounds airy, distant ,thin, lacking body and good tone, prat…other than that silver is good
Just go for Ghent Gotham straight ahead, saves you a lot of problems and huzzle. :bat:

It´s not about silver or copper purely, but dielectrics etc…check John Swenson thoughts.

Silver in general has a clearer and brighter presentation than copper. It doesn’t matter where’s it implemented. It seems to let more high frequencies through at the expense of lower frequencies. The first time I got a pair of Kimber KCAG pure silver interconnects, it almost drove me out of the room, it was so bright sounding. The Acoustic Zen Absolute silver power cords also was much brighter than their copper one. Having said that, other factors come into play like if you mix the conductors with other metals and the different configuration and different dielectrics can change this balance. I know WW Platinum’s are pure silver but in no way are they “bright” sounding. They just sound well balanced with incredible clarity. There are many other companies that use silver exclusively with remarkable results. I would not choose a cable by what conductors they use, but by how they are balanced and how they actually sound.

That’s absolutely contrary to my experience; my almost throughout ‘pure silvered’ chain delivers well balanced and synergic sonics.

(Etherregen> AQDiamond> melco> AQDiamond> matrix(Farad+silverDC)> AQDiamond> Direcstream> SiltechSQ88G5MKII> ARCref6SE> CrystalConnectRef.Diamond> ARCref75SE> CrystalspeakRef.Diamond> MLSpire/Rel)

I’m sorry, what I really want to say is when silver were first introduced in cables, like my Kimber KCAG, it was tilted in the upper frequencies. But now the cable designers found a way to take advantage of this new founded silver clarity with better balanced results. My WW Platinum Eclipse 8 interconnects is a good example. It is highly pure silver, but you would never guess it. The bass is so powerful with unparalleled midrange resolution, and unlimited high frequency extension, and a really full bodied sound.
I have since found better. The Nordost Valhalla2 USB is not only better, it is WAY better than my WW Platinum S7 USB. Much higher in resolution and everything else. But it is only silver plated copper. So it not just the conductors. My Wywires Diamonds interconnects also is WAY higher in resolution and much better than my WW Platinum Eclipse 8, and it also uses different types of conductors together. What I’m trying to say is silver is just a small part of the whole picture.

If anyone is still wondering if this AfterDark OCXO clock works or not. It works wonders already though not even close burn in.Totally another level of musical enjoyment. Also new BNC cable takes time to settle,in this case I bought their recommended Project ClayX Black River… something and have absolutely no idea how good or bad it is because it´s the only one I ever tried.

What you need is Farad for EtherRegen, best ocxo clock you can afford plus Farad, and good bnc cable and preferably Ghent Gotham dc cables. Not forgetting good AC power cables, ethernet cables etc. Total sum depending on preferred gear starting from roughly 3000€ and sky high is the limit. Just to optimize ethernet stream…or EtherRegen to be more precise.
There is no way around it,you can´t go cheap using anything else than Farads to power these bad boys to get optimal results. I tried other LPS and no way…Farad easily the best and lets me hear everything so much better.

But to sum it up music never sounded even remotely this good here without these extra boxes. Totally worth it ,already

I’m not sure if I follow.

Ron`s words…you funny

But you went ahead and I followed, lol  You still need those Farads. Really.

I would love to find out what Sunlight firmware adds or takes away or even if things change. Ted’s VMEO video on multiple clocking changes with firmware seems to argue that boost sound by reducing jitter.

I’m starting to get in the mood for the Farads…

Well better is always better, right? Better the dac better the add ons…they all multiply and it´s all better again. More of everything and the easier it is to hear all these tweaks we do :slightly_smiling_face:

Being that I always look forward to your comments on products and you helped me steer towards the Sbooster’s (which I thoroughly enjoy!) I’m shocked that you haven’t purchased or tried the Farad yet! Maybe a good thing for me because I’ll want one also!

Which AfterDark model did you buy?

I asked for best package to go with my ER and got Queen.I think. It´s impossible to say because there is no label on the unit,or anything at all. No paperwork etc…they are improving and I read that from now on there should be serial numbers and labels.

I let this settle for months time or more to see what the end results are,and then maybe I will go for Emperor something. So far I am already a believer and very happy with this. Now I feel I should have gone till the end of line straight. Emperor Double Crown might be the sweet spot looking at the specs. But even this Queen is at least as big jump as is adding ER.

My problem with new shiny box bliss is that I don´t go all in. I start from the lower end and work my way to top if I like results. Now the bliss is real
