Anyone using Paul's Maestro Music management system?

Glad you got it working. It’s not ideal, but is more convenient than running to the other room to select music. The Maestro iPad version is likely a better way to go once released.

This lists some affordable NAS options. But really, even USB drive/s attached to your computer or directly attached to a compatible router would serve the purpose.

thank you

as long as MacMini can be used with iPad Maestro, no problemo

With the iP{ad,hone} apps, do you mean I can’t just continue using my UPnP server without installing additional Maestro software? Does Maestro bounce those files to my DAC through the cloud?

@Paul will there be any Maestro imposed limitations when accessing it from different countries? Didn’t try accessing from my last trip, so just wondering…

This last week or so, I have noticed that Maestro no longer plays bitperfect to my dac. Instead it says it uses system audio and plays in shared mode. I never got these type of messages before. But if I look under Devices in Maestro, it indicates that it is using the Cambridge usb driver and not system audio. In Windows I have given permission for exclusive mode operations of the Cambridge usb driver, so it should be no problem, should it?

What version are you on? Should be bit perfect. If you’re on 135 and it’s not please send logs.

I’m on version 135. I’ll mail you the log in a minute. :slightly_smiling_face:

Got them, thanks. Terri and I are heading out the door for an overnight camp trip but back tomorrow so nothing to help today. Wit apologies.

A well deserved break. Enjoy!

I have been able to connect my iPad to my Mac via Team Viewer and can now control Maestro via iPad. Much happier now since I don’t need to move between rooms to use Maestro. Now I can just listen to whatever I feel like without moving….thanks for the advice.

I’m on Maestro v.135, best version so far!
I’m playing through an AirLens connected via I2S to a Rockna Wavelight DAC. The Airlens is set to Native DSD and when I test the device, all sample rates are supported (up to 256 MHz).

Can anyone explain why I get this when playing DSD:

Why am I subject to this “Zone limit” when playing DSD? And what is 1/353?

All other formats; FLAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF displays as expected.

Lars

I’m trudging (happily) through the beta stages of Maestro. Little triumphs, like with version .135, Clear Queue works! I’m doing this because nearly all my listening is via digital files on my computer, no streaming, and I want the best possible sound. I thought Roon was very good until I heard Audirvana, which is much better, but has bugs I cannot tolerate (cutting off many tracks 1-2 seconds before the end for example). Maestro is even better, in fact better sound than I have heard since I gave up my Lp listening (Oracle, Dynavector, etc). And since it is still beta I hope it will develop pretty bug free and incorporate the most essential tool–Access through Folders! I believe this is against Apple beliefs, but even Roon finally offered it, after saying it never would, but only after Harmon bought it. Searches are always problematic, but one solution would be multiple options, such as String Search, Album Title, Artist, Label, Edition (which may be taken care of with both Album Title and Metadata),and Metadata Search. Because Roon doesn’t do all of those its search merits the complaints it has been dealt (although it is still quite useful, don’t get me wrong). Also note that if I have Folder Access, I could do without search (if I had to, just a value comparison) I won’t relinquish Roon until I am confident with Maestro’s total operation, but I anticipate each day with anticipation!

bravo

Thanks for the vote of confidence and sound quality and ease of use is why we built this so that’ll only get better over time.

As for search requests maybe let me know what it is you’re looking for. Doesn’t sound hard to implement and if I understood what you were looking for I can probably make them happen for you.

Maybe fill out a support ticket and click feature request instead of problem.

Aren’t you supposed to be on vacation? Relax, the forum will still be here when you get back.

Hah! Thanks. Yes, I took a day off.

If your working Paul can you fly out to California and ship my F12? Have a great and safe 4th weekend.

Hah! Let me get the private PS Audio jet fired up and head your way.

Thanks, you have a great 4th as well!

Twas stuck on rescanning, wiped it and fingers crossed.
