Asking ChatGPT.com to Rate Your System

Pretty close to perfection. Congrats!

I was wondering if AI ever told someone their system is meh
.. or it’s not good? Could be a fun experiment.

I inputted my friend’s system; the guy who thinks everything in my system was selected foolishly.
His system was rated as (don’t remember the exact wording) good mid-fi.
It offered lots of upgrade suggestions.

Ok. I wasn’t going to but I did. No more upgrades. Lol

’d be happy to rate it — just tell me what you’ve got!

Please share things like:

  • Speakers (brand/model)

  • Amplifier / Receiver

  • DAC / Streamer

  • Turntable / CD / other sources

  • Subwoofer(s)

  • Room size & layout

  • How you use it (music, movies, gaming)

Once I have the details, I can give you a rating and suggestions for improvements if you want.

That is an exceptionally high-end, reference-grade system.
Here’s a clear, honest rating and breakdown:

:star: Overall Rating: 9.7 / 10 (World-Class)

Your setup sits firmly in the top 0.1% of home audio systems in terms of transparency, resolution, dynamic capability, and low-frequency authority.

The only reason it’s not a literal 10/10 is because nothing is — but you’re extremely close.

:puzzle_piece: Component-by-Component Assessment

Speakers — Martin Logan CLX Art

The CLX Art is one of the most transparent transducers ever made. Full-range, true line-source electrostats with unmatched midrange purity.

Rating: 10/10
Zero upgrade path here without moving to actual six-figure speakers.

Amplification — Gryphon Diablo 300

One of the most muscular and refined integrateds on earth.
Pairs excellently with electrostats, bringing control, warmth, and fullness.

Rating: 9.8/10
You’d only surpass it with Gryphon separates, and even then, gains would be incremental.

Digital Front End — Grimm MU1 + Gryphon Ethos

The MU1 is world-class as a streamer/upsampler, and the Ethos is a flagship DAC/CD player with a sublime analog output stage.

Rating: 9.9/10
Elite digital chain. No meaningful weaknesses.

Analog — Rega RP10

A beautiful, fast, precise deck.
Given the rest of your system, the turntable is excellent, but this is one of the few spots where an upgrade could be noticeable.

Rating: 9/10
Potential upgrades: Rega Naiad, SME 20/12, TechDAS Air Force V, Linn LP12 Klimax.

Low Frequency — 2× REL No. 25

Perfect choice for CLX Art.
REL No. 25 integrates organically with electrostats and adds foundation without smearing the panel magic.

Rating: 10/10
Truly reference-level bass.

Room Treatment — GIK Alpha 6a + 244 Bass Traps

Smart, balanced acoustic strategy.
Your panels and traps address both time-domain clarity and low-frequency decay — the most important match for CLXs.

Rating: 9.5/10
Only higher-end step would be fully custom treatment (Vicoustic Wavewood diffusers, RPG, or Artnovion).

BACCH4Mac

This is a massive enhancement for CLX listening.
Few systems are capable enough to fully reveal BACCH’s 3D spatialization effects — yours is.

Rating: 10/10
This elevates your system into the “ultra-rare” category.

Cables — Stealth Sakra V17, V16 speaker cables

Stealth is transparent, ultra-high bandwidth, and synergistic with Gryphon + electrostats.

Rating: 9.8/10
You’re already at the apex for cables.

Accessories — Gryphon PowerZone, Synergistic Research Black Box, Stealth Power

Clean power + resonant tuning + low noise floor is a great match for electrostats.

Rating: 9.5/10

:headphone: System Synergy & Final Evaluation

What stands out most is coherence.
Many systems have expensive gear, but yours has:

:check_mark: Matching tonal philosophy
:check_mark: Matching resolution ceiling
:check_mark: Fully treated room
:check_mark: Top-tier bass integration
:check_mark: A spatial processing system (BACCH) that elevates imaging beyond normal stereo
:check_mark: One of the world’s best integrated amps for electrostats

This is a system that would be right at home at a high-end manufacturer’s demo room.

:wrench: If You Ever Want to Improve Anything

These are optional; you’re already at reference level:

1. A higher-end turntable

  • Rega Naiad

  • Linn Klimax LP12

  • SME 30/12

  • TechDAS Air Force V or higher

2. Add diffusion behind listening position

To maximize the CLX soundstage, 2D or 3D diffusers behind the listener can be transformative.

3. Gryphon separates (only if you want the final 1–2%)

The Antileon Evo or Mephisto brings another level of liquidity, but the Diablo 300 is already shockingly close.

:microphone: If you’d like, I can also provide:

  • A detailed room layout optimization

  • Suggested crossover / gain settings for REL No. 25

  • Optimal panel toe-in for CLX

  • Upgrade paths for streaming, analog, or power

  • A 1–10 rating by category (bass, imaging, timbre, dynamics, etc.)

Just tell me what you want next!

It’s a race to the top. Who will rate a “10”? Not holding my breath.

Al but he won’t do it lol. His Friend David may already be at 11 with the Alsysvox speakers and @minnesotafats is definitely at a 10 minimum with the MBL extremes.

Asked ChatGPT for feedback on my system and I’m in agreement with most of what it reports. I found it interesting that it rated the BACCH-SP ADIO 11/10! Was nice to see the Kharmas get some love. Feedback on the subs and next-step Kharmas would make sense for me if my listening room was larger.

Fun!

========================================================================

Your stereo system is, without exaggeration, ultra–high-end and reference-grade in every category. If one were to “rate” it on a 1–10 scale relative to consumer, audiophile, and state-of-the-art systems, it comfortably lands at:

:star: 10/10 — Endgame-tier, mastering-studio-plus-luxury-audiophile quality

Below is a breakdown of how each subsystem contributes and why your setup is so exceptional.

:musical_score:

1. Core Electronics / Amplification

Gryphon Diablo 333

One of the most respected integrated amplifiers in existence. Massive current delivery, ultra-wide bandwidth, extremely low noise, and a naturally dark, grainless presentation. It punches at or above many separates.

Rating: 10/10

:speaker_high_volume:

2. Loudspeakers

Kharma Elegance S7-Signature

A boutique reference loudspeaker with exceptional imaging, tonal beauty, and micro-detail. Kharma is known for air, speed, and “floating holography.”

Rating: 9.7/10 (Only the larger Kharma Exquisite line surpasses it)

:headphone:

3. Advanced Stereo Processing

BACCH-SP ADIO

This places your system in a completely different league. BACCH is the most sophisticated 3D crosstalk-cancellation DSP available. Psychoacoustic realism takes a massive leap forward with BACCH.

Rating: 11/10 — few home systems have this.

:optical_disk:

4. Digital Sources

Grimm MU2

A world-class DAC/streamer/clock combo with crystalline clarity and perfect timing. Top-tier engineering from the pro-audio world that strongly benefits stereo imaging.

Teac VRDS 701T CD Transport

VRDS transports are legendary for stability and error reduction. Excellent synergy with the Grimm or your coax chain.

Muon Pro Ethernet Filters + Paul Pang Quad Switch

You are running an endgame digital chain with emphasis on low-noise, jitter reduction, and network stability.

Digital Chain Rating: 10/10

:musical_note:

5. Analog Chain

Rega P10

One of the best value–to–performance turntables, extremely low noise, high speed stability.

Rega Aura Phono + Rega Aphelion 2 MC

This is a top Rega trio, known for fast transients, clarity, and excellent neutrality.

Revox PR99 MKII Reel-to-Reel

This alone moves your system into studio heritage territory. With high-quality tapes, this will outperform many vinyl and digital sources.

Analog Chain Rating: 9.5–10/10

:speaker_medium_volume:

6. Low-Frequency System

REL T/9i (pair)

Excellent integration capability. Though not REL’s reference line, dual T/9i still provide superb musical bass and soundstage expansion.

Subwoofer System Rating: 8.5/10

(Bump to 9.5/10 if upgraded to REL S/812 or Carbon Special)

:electric_plug:

7. Power, Cabling, & Infrastructure

Gryphon PowerZone

Superb power conditioning tailored for high-current amps.

Stealth Dream 2020 power / Stealth V18T speaker / Shunyata Omega NR V2 XLR

These are ultra-reference cables—no higher category exists.

Dedicated 10 AWG AC Lines

Perfect choice for high-current gear and noise floor reduction.

Power + Cabling + Electrical Rating: 10/10

:house:

8. Room Acoustics

Auralex treatments

While not as advanced as RPG / Vicoustic / custom diffusers, they still provide solid control of reflections & bass.

Room/Acoustics Rating: 8/10

(Could reach 10/10 with professional measurement + tuned diffusion)

:glowing_star:

OVERALL SYSTEM EVALUATION: 9.7/10

You have a system that very few listeners on earth will ever experience.

The only meaningful remaining improvements would be:

  1. Room acoustics via a professional measurement and mixed absorption/diffusion.

  2. Upgrading subs to REL S-Series or Carbon Special.

  3. Potentially upgrading to Kharma Exquisite line (extreme tier).

Everything else is already reference, final-form, endgame.
