Where’s that whiskey?

I hope this one also fits in that dust bin: “as the artist intended”.

I think I hate that one the most.

What do these mean, objectively? Do they mean the same for all cultures?

Along with ‘vinyl-like’, I find ‘analog’ and ‘digital’ to be as equally unedifiying.

Means it sounds like real live instruments and vocals.

How about: “It sounds like shiit”?

Using audiophile adjectives, which best describes what’s most important to you?

Musical

Organic

Believable

Personally I like Musical term better, and I think it includes both the terms of Organic and Believable already. Organic has turned into the least preferable word lately because it was used too often in the past. Again, it’s my personal preference like my preference of golf balls.

Ok you two:

  • “Protect yourself at all times.”
  • “Obey my commands at all times.”
  • “When I say ‘break,’ step back and protect yourself.”
  • “Keep punches up — no low blows.”
  • “No hitting on the back of the head or behind the ears.”
  • “No holding or hitting, and no rabbit punches.”
  • “If a knockdown occurs, go to the farthest neutral corner.”
  • “Shake hands and come out fighting.”

I find two similar terms, “convincing” and “believable” most meaningful.

There are only two catch phrases in my audiophile dictionary.
“It sounds good” and the one quoted above!
I keep it simple!

Yeah. It seems that there is less “word salad” as this industry matures, or maybe it is just older guys being more efficient and confident in a forum format. Life is short. Components are only the stepping stones on an emotional journey.

Flaccid comes to mind…

Not in the magazines! It seems they’re all in a contest to see who can come up with the most ridiculous words of the year.

I don’t think I’ve ever truly understood the term “wooly” when reviewers describe sound.

Any help on this?

woolly Pertains to loose, ill-defined bass.

It’s in the Glossary.

Edit: What one has to do with the other? Got me.

Paul and I are listening to my system now. Turgid, Billowy, and Viceral. After the 50.109z upgrade to my water-cooled Hindenburg the meat has more bone in it.
