Sad news indeed. Wishing his family the best.
It was fun to see him post here. Godspeed, BHK
RIP BHK. You have performed your miracles for us!
This may be way too early to be thinking of these things, but some sort of tribute might be a nice touch. I don’t know what that may be, I don’t know, perhaps associated with the model 600 amps soon to come out?
Paul and PS did a fantastic thing, allowing Bascom to create signature products with his name on it. I really enjoyed all the videos Bascom did at the time the amps were released, and many times I have paraphrased his findings on forums. I can’t imagine ever selling my BHK300’s, unless some GANfet hybrid comes out that surpasses it.
I was up until 2 am last night, completely Immersed in the music, and blown away at how good my system was sounding after upgrading the tubes in the BHK preamp. Thank you Bascom, for the wonderful products you desgned, which have greatly enhanced my musical enjoyment.
Allow me to express my gratitude for his contribution, not only to the discriminating audiophile, but being open enough to also share his ideology on the matter. I celebrate him and what he did for so many. I can only hope that his family knows of how much he meant to the world of high fidelity audio. May he indeed Rest In Peace - Rest In Power.
Blown away says it all. I just finished my music room and it is loaded w/ BHK gear. Just started to listen after 2 years dribs and drabs. Working a nice glass of Port. Salute BHK! He is sorely missed. Bonus: he was such a nice guy, spending time talking to the community, solving issues, helping… he defined community… here’s to BHK…
So sad to hear this.
The best tribute I can think of is all of us fortunate enough to own the gear bearing his name to enjoy every minute of music. His leagacy will live on with the amps and preamp he created. Enjoy the music! Bascom made that part easy! Thank you for sharing your craft!
Few things I use each and every day…BHK pre and 250 are my morning ritual w/a cup of coffee. Bonus time is when I get more hours of listening in. Sad news…RIP!
Very sad news. It’s hearting to hear that so many of us have the fruits of his legacy and continue to enjoy them.
One of the features of this fickle cottage industry is that you can often get more than a glimpse of into the men that are at the forefront in advancing the art. BHK did that with candor, wit and some kick ass circuit topologies.
Thank you Bascom, I feel sad and full of gratitude, how many rooms and hearts will always perceive your soul floating upon music ever and ever.
BHK,
You have put smiles on many faces and warmed up many hearts! You will always be remembered and thanked! RIP
So sad to see his passing. He was always willing to help out anyone who needed info to upgrade their stereo system. He will be sorely missed.
With his work, he left the world a better place.
RIP BHK you will be missed
God speed Bascom
BHK may be gone, but his spirit lives on within our gear.
With the also recent passing of Vlad Lamm, two respected amp designers passing in close succession. Loss for the industry for sure
