For several years I have really respected what I’ve heard coming out of the Canadian audiophile label 2xHD. I’ve read about their processes for remastering recordings and compared the originals to the remasters and I have never been more impressed. In another message regarding subwoofers, I just raved about a recent remaster of the album Vent Contre Aires by Mathieu Desy and the 2xHD treatment is a huge improvement over the Qobuz version. I have found their jazz releases to be phenomenal both from a musical as well as audiophile perspective - several Bill Evans trio recordings, anything by Emilie Claire-Barlow, Holly Cole, many others.
Do you have any specific recommendations of titles that have really blown you away? Either classical or jazz or anything. I do own their speaker and sound set-up collections, so no need to list those. And I know they’re big into vinyl and reel-to-reel, but I’m not into those enough at this point to pay their prices. Thanks.
