Best Lines - keep it to one or two lines

Is being more mensch like good or bad in this context?

All action is reaction
Expansion, contraction
Man the manipulator
Underwater, does it matter?
Antimatter, nuclear reactor
Boom boom boom boom

Janitor - Suburban Lawns

Only ever good AFAIK

Once I walked through the halls of a station
Someone called your name
In the streets I heard children laughing
They all sound the same

Wonder could you ever know me
Know the reason why I live?
Is there nothing you can show me
Life seems so little to give

(I know keep it to two lines, but come on man!)

The Band. In a Station. Music from the Big Pink!

The clock strikes twelve and moon-drops burst
Out at you from their hiding place
Like acid and oil on a madman’s face
His reason tends to fly away

Like lesser birds on the four winds
Like silver scrapes in May
Now the sand’s become a crust
And most of you have gone away

(This was meant to prompt others to investigate, but if you must know… Blue Oyster Cult’s album Secret Treaties and the cut is called Astronomy)

I have no problem with more than 2 lines, 12+ if necessary to share your likes. This is one of my favorite threads. Thanks to bruce-in-philly “combin’ his hair with that wrench”

While our minds run parallel, we may never meet each other.
There are benefits to our reality, probably under appreciated.

Reality, wow what a concept.

George Carlin, I think

The number of lines is not that important to me.

What I would like to see is attribution. If you post compelling lyrics, please let us know who did it, and which track we can find it on.

While many of the quotes here are familiar, not all are, and I’d love to track down the song they came from for a listen.

I agree with RobH, I love to play the tracks.

Wouldn’t it be simpler if… ?

Shorty’s got to go…tell that guy he’s got to die…

I have no idea about the “real” origins of this song. Could be one of those songs like St. James Infirmary. You have to go pretty deep to know.

Have you seen Junior’s grades?

@jedi wrote, not sure who to credit. So I credit him.

For one or other really silly reason [because it’s actually against my philosophy] I keep on remembering this:-
A man needs someone to believe in
Or else he’s gonna blow his mind
Mike Pinder, from the album “The Promise”.

You keep a swervin’ in my lane and it’s causing’ lots of danger
I’m a honkin’ on my horn, I’m a shooting you the finger
I keep a switchin’ on my bright lights, but your just too dim to know
When your swervin’ on life’s highway, your running someone off the road

If you like country with a boogie beat, he’s the man to meet
If you wanna feel real nice, just ask the rock and roll doctor’s advice.

Two degrees in be-bop, a PHD in swing
He’s the master of rhythm, he’s a rock and roll king.
