BHK PREAMP Headphone Jack?

I have owned a BHK Preamp for 6 or 7 years and in all that time I have never used the Headphone Jack on the unit.

Yesterday I friend came over with a pair of KEF headphones to try out. We were listening to music through the speakers as normally, when he plugged the headphone cable into the preamp the preamp completly “shut-down.”

So I switched off the preamp and pulled out the power cord and waited for a few minutes before turning the unit back on. When I turned on the power the screen lit up and started to go through its normal routine, counting down the 90 seconds before it turned on. When the counter got to “0” the screen started flashing and below the first title line in Italics said “error preamp

The whole screen began to flash along with the on/off button faster then normal. So I

again switched everything off and this morning I reconnected the power cord and it did the same routine except this time under the title line on the screen it said “fault” but not in Italics and the screen was not flashing, only the power button but at a more normal rate.

So my question is, has anyone experienced this phenomenon with the phone-jack and if so what was the fix to correct the issue?

I miss my music and am not looking forward to shipping it back to PSA for repair.

Any help you might provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,
