I think the “black ice” term references the clarity of black ice which should really be called “clear ice” as it is free of air or other contaminants which would cloud it up and clearly shows what is behind it. Usually it is referenced when it forms on black pavement.

Very well could be. I only know of the AC/DC album because the Black Ice Audio CEO mentioned it to me… I’m not a native AC/DC listener.
Even less appealing.
