Bridge III?

Agreed. I’d like us to pack as many features in it as possible. The team sure has a lot of decisions to make…

I use the Mac Mini and Ultrarendu connected by the Switch Sotm. UltraRendu connected to Matrix Spdif via USB and Matrix via i2s for Directstream DAC.

Something like this network card supports Roon, Airplay2, Chromecast Built-in , UPnP and probably your Octave protocol and easily be adapted.

Supports DSD also.

I guess there will always be the question of how much versatility can we compromise to achieve the best sound quality.

Wow, this does look pretty slick!

Any product you see that supports all of Roon, Airplay2, Chromecast Built-in, UPnP (John Darko calls the Holy Grail for streaming) is likely using this and there’s a few products out there…

Hi James

will the software (Octave) on Bridge 3 have something similar to Roon Radio, if so can you describe what it will be and what method you will use to predict what I might like to hear.

To me this is one of Roons best features, being able to search Qobuz for tunes to supplement my library and then be able to add that album to my library.

Also when do you think you will be able to start to discuss the SQ that you have been able to produce with Bridge 3?

thanks

I know a radio feature is definitely something we want. I know the algorithm that goes into it is not trivial so there’s a lot of work to be done. Roon’s is very good. I’m always pleasantly surprised with how much new good stuff I find with it. Apple music has a similar feature and it’s absolutely terrible.

I struggle searching for stations on Roon radio. Bridge II is/was far easier.

I see that this thread is nearly 4 years old. Any idea when the Bridge III will finally be available?

Latest I heard is this Fall
It won’t be called a Bridge as it will be a standalone product with a Network connection input with several flavors of outputs including 12S

Yep, Fall seems pretty reasonable.

As soon as anybody at PS Audio can confirm that it will have Ethernet In, and an I2S Out that can support up to the maximum I2S DSD input planned, or possible, for the DS MkII, I’ll consider it.

Get you card ready

Probably later next year. Bridge l and Bridge ll are totally obsolete , Bridge lll must have the latest technology and it advances so quickly that Psaudio will need , perhaps, even much more time. Personally I am not going to buy another Psaudio bridge unless it , at last, reaches reference sky high performance in the form of a STREAMER in a box apart.

You have more faith than I, I’m afraid. To date no one has been able to make such a device - at least not one that does better than DSD64. I hope PS Audio proves me wrong, though.

There are pluses and minus to be the eternal optimist

But a true eternal optimist would not acknowledge or mention said minuses, or risk losing one’s rights to the moniker.
