Whaddaya think of the mechanical properties of clam shells, possibly for use as footers as is?
They just feel like a material that could be useful, somewhere. Okay, there are ceramics, but still - clam shells?
I use stacks of clam shells to support my power cables’ IECs, and under my DAC also.
Can’t say I think I heard a difference - they might not be in the right place anyway.
I like the idea. I was spending time in Florida and had an entire beach to myself. I just tokk the clothes off and went in. Probably 85 degree water. Mmmmm.
Anyway, there was a patch four feed wide along the beach of all shells. For miles. I couldn’t think of a use for them so I moved on without them.

Wondering if oyster shells resting on top of pearls would be the ocean’s equivalent of Stillpoints? If anyone knows it’s @aangen, right?

I’m partial to oysters on the half-shell, with a good Champagne, acid-filled German riesling, Muscadet, Sancerre or a Fino Sherry. A dozen will do me just fine.
