Decware. The Best Amp Ever? Andrew Robinson Seems To Think So

Sorry that I came across so negative. Just that I had made a decision on purchasing a DSJ, then was presented with the new information of no future SW updates.

Nothing is forever, but PSA advertising copy writers should have never used the word never.

The DSJ is still on the top of my list. Also since the halting of any future updates was announced back in April of 2021, the prices on used units reflect this.

After a 3 year wait I finally received my Decware SE34i.6 (Rachael) amp. I got it tricked out with all the mods, headphone out, pre amp, out and 4 RCA inputs. The headphone out is very good and sounds great with the Senn 6XX. I’m using Caintuck F-15 Magnum open baffle speakers. They use the Same Lii-Song F-15 driver as the Decware Zen Master speakers but in a smaller form factor. Once broken in they sound incredible.

The amp is a joy to listen to, use, and look at. The delivered Decware tubes are very good, but I have started tube rolling and like the results I’m getting with the Psvane Horizon 274B-AT rectifier tube with the Cryotone EL34 and the Psvane 6L6WGC output tubes.

The rest of the system consists of a BHK preamp which is an excellent partner for the Rachael amp. For digital i have an EverSolo DMP-A8 for streaming and a Denafrips Pontus 15 DAC (excellent piece). For vinyl I have a MoFi UltraDeck w/ a Darlington Lans MP7B preamp.

Is Decware the best amp ever? IDK. What I do know is I like it and see it having a spot in my system for a very long time.

Awesome! Patience paid off. Enjoy. I’ve had an earlier version of the Rachel in the past, a really nice amp. I’ve been enjoying my SEWE300B for over two years now–ended my amp quest and envy. These amps continue to sound better with time.

Decware amps are brilliant. I have a Zen Triode.
If your Rachael has the volume control, try it sometime without the BHK preamp. It’s a fun experiment.

We hope that you enjoy your Decware amp as much as we enjoy ours!

I have been using the BHK as a preamp for the Rachael. It’s an excellent pairing. I prefer it over connecting my Pontus 15 DAC directly to the Rachael. It adds a little more meat to the presentation and provides volume control.

I have the Rachael volume control set at about 75%.

I may put in an order for a Sarah and get it in 3-4 years. I’ll likely be itching for an upgrade by then. :joy:

The SEWE300B is amazing–I want no other amp. Worth the wait if you can endure it.

We waited 2 1/2 years for our Decware Sarah 300B amp…we bought a Dennis Had 300B amp from him, and then sold it for what we paid when we got the Decware amp.

I just changed output tubes on my SEWE300B (put in Linlai 7300B-D) and adjusted the hum knobs and it’s dead quiet–I think the Shuguang Black Treasure 300B that I was using were a bit noisier or have become so. I just am enthralled by the flexibility and resolution of this amp.

On the Decware forum (and just posted on audiomart) one of the longtime members just put his SEWE300B up for sale and someone can beat a three year plus wait and get a great amp! (Just helping distribute the availability, I have no connection to the seller other than a “penpal” relationship).

Just pure engineering, the design happens as a natural result to stellar engineering.

One day I’ll get an order in.
