Seems like the most logical thing to do. I would recommend a good quality coax cable between the Oppo and the Directstream.
For CD listening, I have Coax (wireworld cable) from Oppo 205 to PS DAC, and then Analog RCA from PS DAC to my SSP (Marantz 8805A). For SACD, XLR analog cable from Oppo to SSP, and XLR from SSP to Amplifiers.
