They are on the power supply board. The analog card gets a regulated 12V over its power cables and does further regulation of that.
Does diodes have cooling devices on it and are screwed to it? Diodes are SMD, there is no such item on Power Supply board,i did looked everywhereā¦there are only four regulators with three legs with cooling devices on it,diodes are not present,so,where they are,can you send the picture,i would like to replace it with SIC diodes, but, cannot find itā¦

Iām sorry but Iām not going to take my DAC apart to get you pictures of the power supply. In general, my policy is to give enough information that someone who knows what they are doing can figure things out, but not enough information that someone who isnāt qualified can get themselves into trouble. As I mentioned earlier, I didnāt design the power supply board, so I donāt have schematics, mechanical drawings, etc. of it. I did the digital and analog cards and have been quite forthcoming with information about them. (See the DirectStream DAC modification thread.)
Okay,i understand, even at PS Audio support they do not know, where they are,i must wait for schematics in August, when it will be available to look to it,where these diodes are placedā¦thank youā¦do you have Edcor XS4400 transformers in your DACās?
The Edcor XS4400 audio transformers are a reasonable upgrade (I suggested them 8 years ago when the DS came out as the boards were designed to also accept them, but only recently have people tried them.) I keep my DSās stock so any software upgrades I do to them will be what others hear. Besides my soldering skills arenāt up to the task of doing even simple things like that
You have half an hour work with these,i did upgraded it few days ago,no problem, they fit perfectlyā¦then, you do miss something better in sound,as it is more live and emotional with transformersā¦do you have any information about TSS DAC available? Any pictures too?
The TSS thread has a lot of info, including pictures of the first two prototype boards:
TSS Two Chassis Super DAC - Audio Components / DACs - PS Audio
The first post in it also has a few links to previous threads that talked about the TSS (before it was named.)
How much is the price for TSS Obsidian DAC? Where can i hear it,do you have any link with his music playing?
The TSS isnāt released yet and its price hasnāt been set. First the DS Mk II is coming out, then the TSS.
It was at Axpona 2019 and it is not released yet,how is that?
Neither the TSS nor the DS Mk II has been released.
I do not know what you saw at AXPONA
Heās right. PS Audioās booth had a static display of the TSS. It was a prototype box, with the connectors that might come to be used, a big sign, and a Ted to answer questions. My favorite part of that show was meeting Galen and talking to him for a while while we were snowed in there.
Again: Neither the TSS nor the DS Mk II has been released.
@Elk - Has the BHK 600 or the AirLens been released?
Would you please provide us a list of every product thatās released and available to purchase that isnāt on the PSA Official website?
(insert evil laugh)
Hi to everyoneā¦does any of you Direct Stream DAC owners know, where bridge of four diodes are placed inside of DAC? I did looked everywhere on Power Supply board, but, there are only power regulators with three legs and cooling devices screwed to it,diodes are SMD,so,they are not there, perhaps they are below the boardā¦
Have you tried just pulling the supply board yourself and taking a look?
Are you sure they are not two regulators and two hexfreds? Both come in TO220 packages, and dual hexfreds have 3 legs, so would look like regulators.
I did only looked at the Power Supply board, not belowā¦diodes are SMD,as advised by PS Audio support,so,no SMD thereā¦
So if theyāre SMD, why not just pull your power supply board and take a peek at the underside? It just takes a few screws. Youāll probably have to detach the ribbon cables to the analog board and display, but should be able to pull it up far enough to see without undoing the hookup wires.
