The pops are specifically DSD related. Do you get pops with either JRiver or Roon when playing DSD files?
I do get pops playing native dsd through roon. Or any other type of file
âŚafter one track jriver plays nothing.
Hi @dancingsea,
When playing through a series of DSD titles, I do hear a small pop, or click.
It happens in both Roon when playing to the Bridge II and Jriver when playing to the Bridge II.
On my system, the click is feint and sounds like a small piece of dust on a record.
I also tried DSD playback over USB and experienced the same problem, so it does not seem to be a bridge II issue.
I listen to vinyl too so that is possibly why I never noticed it, my brain is trained to automatically tune out the clicks.
Said with tongue in cheek: PS Audio always strives for analog-like rendering. In this case they have achieved it. Pops and all.
I completely understand where you are coming from though. There are some recordings that I can only listen to every so often because there is some aspect of that recording that gets on my nerves, but I like the song and will listen to it once in a while. When it is every song, song after song, and you are sensitive to the pop, I understand how it can drive you up the wall.
Thatâs peculiar as Iâve only experienced that issue over the Bridge and only with DSD, which is all I remember reading about in the forums. I wonder if you have another issue?
Itâs possible. Considering the complexity of the playback path, itâs hard to tell without extensive testing. The pop doesnât bother me and I also have a limited number of DSD files so the problem happens so infrequently that I donât really care about it. I donât up-convert my files to DSD during playback. I prefer the simplicity of sending the file in its original format and let the DS Sr. work its magic. Because of this, I would rarely hear any pops.
Well for me the improved SQ with upsampling to DSD is addictiveâŚnow I cant go back.

New Bridge II Update cured my pops
