DS Dac and Lumin Leedh volume control

Excellent idea! I will give that a try.

I heard no difference. My system is strictly headphone so I don’t know if that matters. Tidal(Lumin App on Ipad)>Lumin U1(Wireworld Platinum 7 USB)> DSD Sr>Woo WA33 EE.
I started a track with the DSD at unity gain(100) and the Lumin volume using the App set at 99. Then using the volume control ± moved from 99 to 100 and back several times. I could detect no difference.

In my case it was slightly better, but not by much. A small improvement in low level resolution with improved air and recording location feel.

Did any other Lumin owners try the new Leedh volume control ?

Not yet. I’ll be able to try on Sunday

I experimented with it yesterday. DSD set to 94 based on Ted’s recommendation. I found Leedh on to be better, slightly warmer/organic, than off. But, I could not tell the difference between 94 and 99 on the U1 Mini.

I agree : improvement with Leedh but no difference between 99 and 94.

My wife just confirmed the magic of the Leedh volume control, and I trust her golden ears.

If the Leedh upsampling is as good as the volume control, it would be a very nice addition. On the Lumin website, there is a a very positive review of the upsampling. Of course it is a business decision for Lumin, given the additional licensing costs for Lumin.

U1 Lumin is connected to DSD dac via AES/EBU with WW Platimum.
DSD dac feeds preamp via xlr sockets. Dac is now fitted with XS4400.
Tried most of these combination documented and my preferred operation is Leedhs and DSD, both set at 100, control volume at preamp.
I did find a tiny bit of change setting the Leedhs / dsd between 94-99 but nothing severe or dramatic that’s worth my while.
Of course, mileage will vary, just keep trying.
If you are really looking for a dramatic blast in this set up, install new XS 4400 transformers in your PS Audio DSD dac, the transformer do need minimum 40 music hours to gain all the benefits.
