What makes you say EtherRegen is not suitable conversation under ethernet isolator topic? If that is what you refer?

I was dumb enough to order it from first sight when it was ready,but it´s my money ,right

I’ve got a pair of flip flops and a clock on the kitchen wall, plus a Cisco 3560 8-port if anyone wants it in the UK for £50.
I would ask Uptone, “Attempts what?” All of that marketing drivel really doesn’t tell us consumers much of anything what their device is actually accomplishing.
I am an AQVOX SE switch owner myself so definitely not defiling the underlying supposition - merely questioning the “marketing-speak.”
How much for flip flops ? you can keep the clock.
Ah,good question but obviously i have no answers,other than gaining better SQ. If we look at Aqvox se model,they don’t show or tell us anything whats inside the box. Parts are under thick coat of resin or what ever they use to hide them. Yet i like my Aqvox switch,it works well and improves SQ a lot.
Uptone is very open on their products,you can see all the innards of their products on their home site plus follow all that development process from their forum.
I have great respect to Alex Crespi and John Swenson as what they do.
Same as all the folks on PS Audio and Ted Smith.
It’s about good science,clever minds and transparency of their business model to make great sounding products. No voodoo stuff.
But when i receive my EtherRegen in late november hopefully…i will tell my brutal but honest opinion how it compares to Aqvox

I do appreciate the ground up engineering that went into the EtherRegen box, even though performance conclusions are pending. Looking at the circuit board, it is apparent that this thing is not a “modded” switch and features some very interesting attributes. I am eager to read users’ opinions once its in the wild - particularly yours since you too have the AQVOX SE switch.
Basic version only,not se…it was my first audio grade switch and I thought to try out cheaper version to see if it makes any improvements,and as many times happen… once I tried it ,my skepticism / expectations went away…pfiuuhh through the roof. It sure did work
I need the flip flops and the electrons check the time as they pass the clock in the kitchen.
PS Audio literature says their DSD DAC is unafffected by noisy sources, same was the case for the PWD DAC. So this switch should not be necessary for DSD owners.
I repeat, just run separate unswitched cabling, preferably fibre optic.
I thought I too read somewhere that Galvanic Isolation, Ethernet Noise and cheap flip flops would not affect the DSD. So when I did not “hear” a change while the Gigafoil was in my system I wondered if it was because the great design of this device rendered such improvements unnecessary.
Still, it’s a blast buying new tweaks.

Even with the PWD DAC PS Audio claimed: “The Digital Lens, called NativeX, is selectable from the front panel or the remote. Engaging NativeX will reduce incoming jitter levels jitter on any input of the PWD to below 1 pico second, regardless of how jittered the incoming signals are.”
I took their word for it and hooked up a $200 TEAC CD transport and it was fine for the 3 CDs I played, never played any since.
So people seem to be spending lots of money trying to solve the same problem (if it is a problem) twice.
You bring up an interesting point.
I’m a GCD owner, and I’m pretty sure the literature for it says nothing of the sort.
Perhaps these devices would benefit my DAC more and I should take these impressions from DSD owners with a grain of salt.
Funny, I connect my Bryston to the network so I can control the device using an Ipad. Put a Gigafoil between the Bryston and the network. Didn’t really notice much of a difference, at the time, but what the heck, it wasn’t doing any harm.
Recently, the thing stopped working (i’m told it is because of new network security). Connecting the Bryston directly to the network smeared the sound in an obvious way – I’ve disconnected the Bryston from the network; so, until I can find a good Ethernet filter alternative, i’m stuck using the Bryston front panel to select music

Can you please elaborate on this? Did it die? Or, is it still powering up but the effects have ceased?
I am also curious as to who provided the explanation that network security has anything to do with its performance shortcomings, as that really makes no sense at all.
Agree with Jeff, network security makes no sense. Was there an update to the Bryston software during this time frame that may be causing the problem. My Aries G1 doesn’t seem to like USB devices between it and the DAC and sometimes the signal would pass through a W4S Recovery and sometimes not. I got tired of fooling with it and took it out as like you I couldn’t really hear any improvement like with previous streamers.
It powers up, green and orange lights come on, but no signal passes through.
I spoke to someone at Gigafoil, and the explanation I got is that my router sees the GF (it’s not supposed to), and shuts down the port — apparently what happened to me has happened to others.
They have offered a refund, since they don’t know how long it will be before they figure out the problem.
What router do you have it connected to?
