I would like to collect some ideas for covering my TV when doing some critical listening.
Ideally, folks would post some specific suggestions based on their own, successful experiences.
My current solution is a bit pathetic:

If you have enough space behind the system there are motorized TV lift solutions available. Some built into furniture, others as standalone mechanical units.
I like it.
I like your solution. Except your right lamp shade is not symmetrical with the left lamp shade, lol
Neither is the cat… his head will create different waves than his tail… I have a projector but swapped to an acoustically transparent screen so the diffusers behind it do their work. The down side is it does reflect all the led lights from equipment from rack.
A bit beyond my needs and budget…
Thank you.
Tough crowd.
I’ll be sure to fine tune the lamp placement this evening.
Hoping others will/can chime in with more pertinent suggestions.
If $200 is outside of budget, you may be limited to a 1/4" ply panel with some Amazon-special diffusers tacked to the front. You could probably get some more of that slatfusor material you have on the walls and hang it over the top of the tv with some hooks (provided the tv mount is strong enough)
Interesting, I have been looking for similar ideas to cover my fixed projection screen.
I have a temporary getup that looks awful.
I am tempted to get more diffusers and mount them on wheels to roll them in front of the screen. Will have to move the big Thresholds.
Screen is 120", room is 14.5 feet wide.
I’m not there yet but a future need that I keep in the back of my mind. I thought about making a framed out fabric acoustic panel or diffuser panel that would hang from the top frame of the tv. Line the frame out with felt so not to scratch any part of the TV frame or screen. I haven’t come across anything specifically made for that application from GIK, Vicoustic, etc. unless I missed it. Use your imagination & ingenuity! Be mindful of the overall weight.
SlatFusers are too heavy.
Thought about a DIY approach…
Please keep the suggestions coming.
BTW, I have too much going on in front of the TV on the floor to set a stand mounted solution in front of the TV.
I do like those speakers!!
That room is a fantastic room!!
I have a 130” screen in my room. I made diffusers from post board and panels I purchased on Amazon. Sonically I think it helps I can’t say it’s obvious but it looks cool imo.
yummy
i know you do!!!
I’m sure I’m in the minority on this one, but our second system that does double duty for tv and music doesn’t sound better to me with acoustic damping over the tv screen. I suppose because I voiced the system to my liking with the screen as it is, damping over the screen makes things sound a little dull to me. I’ve tried using both 2" GIK traps with diffusing panels and heavy moving blankets. The KEF R7 Metas don’t seem to image much different either as long as the speakers are kept a foot or so ahead of the screen The room has heavy velvet black out drapes, thick pads under oriental rugs, and well padded cloth upholstered furniture, so there’s a lot of room damping of high frequencies.
Winner, winner…Chicken Dinner (for best apropos post so far)…
Care to share some more detail about materials, methods and means (especially mounting ideas for stand mounted TV…?
More details please…
TIA.
