Galvanic isolation in DS Mk2?

I want to make sure I understand correctly (and I may not): is it necessary to have input and output grounds lifted in order to for the Mk2 to be galvanically isolated?

Lifting a ground isolates that input or output from the Mk II’s ground. The AC safety ground keeps the unit as a whole from being totally isolated.
