You quoted Paul Hafner saying it needs a month,
so, I’m betting on even better things ahead.
Thank you all guys, appreciate your moral support!
I finally got out of bed, now back to the office and tonight back to music, after 2 days of forced stop!
As for PZ burning in… lei it be, let it be!
He did say a month but I’m hearing substantial improvement after 10 days. Will it get better? I’m sure it will!
At 17 days, 11 hours and 32 minutes it hiccups and turns really awful for 19 seconds.
As long as it’s not 20 seconds or during Supertramp I should be ok.
It is clearly mentioned in the owner’s manual, did you not read it?
Very interesting about the XA25. It took me a long time to realize that my X250.8 much prefers the wall to my P20. (And that doesn’t makes sense to me)
For those looking for the Hifi+ review of the PowerZone it can be purchased here or you can wait for it to be posted on the Hifi+ website for free.
Same with my X260.8 monos. Go figure.
I’ve just received a message from my dealer about the Gryphon PZ.
Day #4. It’s sounding very nice, clear improvement in focusing and soundstage quality. Feeding both DAC and Amp it’s bringing on the table naturalness in a pleasant way, and effortlessly. It seems that the burning in is going to finish.
He asked me the entire weekend to do more experiments, also unplugging at the end the PZ to better understand the entity of the improvement.
I can see it coming already.
Day#10 the powerzone takes everything connected to it to a higher level. I don’t think I can live without it. I ordered you a new powerzone @luca.pelliccioli it will arrive in 2 months.
Not to stir the pot, but I am told that Stealth Audio will be introducing their 7 outlet power conditioner soon…
From what I am hearing at the moment it does favor the PZ 3.10 to the wall.
A testament to the Pass Labs power supply design IMO. Nelson from the very first amp placed significant attention to the power supply of each amplifier.
Interestingly, since I wanted to sell my PS audio P10 as soon as my power strip arrived, I received an inquiry from a prospective buyer.
He had been looking for a P10 for a long time.
He says that he has a Pass XA 200.5 power amplifier.
He said his entire system has a continuous power consumption of 1000 watts.
I don’t want him to have a disappointing result or for me to hear afterwards that the P10 is defective.
I also told him that a P20 might be a better choice. Or that he should connect the amplifiers directly to the wall.
At the moment he has a filter from Gardian LAB12.
Regards Andreas
My limited experience informs me to not power a Pass Labs amp from a Power Plant. The P15 best serves sources and preamps IME. Considering the age of the P10, I’d take a Pass.
I agree. The amp is mostly indifferent to power cords also.
Sacrilege!
You were already a prophet the first time, I sincerely hope you are not one again!
Did the Front Row HP not add a subtle improvement?
