Gryphon PowerZone

Look for some RTA cabinet resellers online. Honestly they help you online design and sell the ready to assemble ones you can do yourself.

I did, actually. I ran into a couple of issues with that. First, almost all of them use thermofoil finish on the cabinets, which I don’t like. Second, all of them (that I found, anyway) do not offer cabinets deeper than 24 inches. What I need is 27 inch deep cabinets

Oh yeah that’s an odd size. Do you need 27” to store things or to make it flush? If just to make flush you can build out bracing 3”. I’m sure there are real wood RTA but you may have to hire painter like I had to. If I am being a busy body here let me know. Lol

Storage, I’m afraid.

Looks great!

I second that suggestion. Great people and fine build.

You’re in Melbourne, correct?

Looks like these guys might fit the bill…

When you said small, I thought you meant small.

No. Small as in, apparently, “your job is way to small for us to care about” small.

Not uncommon these days. Our kitchen “overhaul” not a redo involved 4 changes. 3 small and 1 big and new counters. Only one person would take it, their quote $25 and that was with cheap quartz coutners.

We went with the friend of the friend. The three small things 2 days. one Bigger, another three days as it involved venting outside and mounting hood etc. We adding in electrical and a pot filler (not in the original bid) and upgraded to real marble with full slab backsplash. his work 7k, and 15k for the marble. 3k less than the other and got more. The countertops were probably 10k more than the other guy just because we changed slabs.

point is unless you know a handy man who is willing to put you in-between bigger jobs, you pay way too much go get nothing. Its so hard to find people now. I still use that guy for small jobs. Just text him, he lets me know when he a break between other jobs and stops by. Soooo nice that I found him.

As I noted earlier, best to consider the consequences before tearing into a plaster wall. A longer power chord may be the wise choice in the long run.

I used to have a guy like that in NJ, but since I’ve moved down here I haven’t found anyone like that.

I had written two lengthy paragraphs, but I decided to hold back.

Here’s a tip: if you own or intend to purchase the following audio equipment:

  • Audioquest Niagara 5000 7000
  • PS Audio P20 P15 P12
  • Gryphon Powerzone 3.10 3.20
  • And many more…

Make sure you have a good quality power cable set aside. Never remove the stock cable from the box. The manufacturer didn’t want you to use it for reviewing or critiquing their product; it was a courtesy. Even Audioquest doesn’t include the cable because they don’t want you using a cheap 25-cent power cable. :man_facepalming:t2:

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Jay. Now, go ahead and pull two of the Stealth cables from your stash and listen again.

That was exactly my thought after listening to the review - why the heck was he using a stock cable???

Agree wit you.

Am I wrong in remembering that Rune did the same demonstration during the last Axpona?

Rune utilized a stock PC feeding the PZ, and a Vanta PC sans PZ to make the point on the level of improvement provided by a naked PZ. Sold me then and there. Yes improvement can be had with a higher tier PC, as I heard with the AQ Dragon. My plan is FrontRow that is until I realized Audience released a FrontRow Reserve.

Rune set up a power strip and then I believe he used Gryohon’s mid tier cable the Rosso? I believe. I don’t recall 100% from Axpona. I’m glad Jay discovered what we all have ourselves. I’m just kind of blown away that he would listen for multiple days with stock power cables. Gryphon does supply their best cables (Vanta) with the Commander and Apex but the one that comes with the Powerzone is the same quality that comes with a $400 Dell desktop.

Maybe I’m more disappointed I watched the video. Give me my 17 minutes back please.

It’s not the first time it looks like Jay’s copying our Al (with 2-3 months of delay).

Once again, how I wish Al would launch a private video channel (pay per view)! Audio equipment, rabbits and an irresistible good mood!

No need for tank top muscles or endless, soporific rants - just Al as he is!

I get all my insight from Steve.
Praise Steve!

I am sitting here now, listening and it seems extraordinary. I wish some of these devices weren’t so obvious a step up. The PowerZone is super obvious. With a $4000 power cord it just plants more bliss into the room. The room becomes more transparent. Boundaries are extended.

But I was over at my brothers place tonight and his system Rocked!
There are so many ways to skin the cat. But every now and then a product jumps out and BLAM! I wonder what is next. I have set plans, a new cartridge, a floor standing DeGritter, and maybe an EMI Protector. We are learning together.

Just no Pangea!
