There it is from the best!
This is where my beloved P20 has sat since my PowerZone arrived. My group special discount deal is still alive.
Congrats, way better now!
Never thought to cover the screen with some fabric? Sonically speaking you could be surprised.
It would be nice to compare Gryphon Powerzone, Schnerzinger Allocator and Furutech Vault.
But don’t forget that power cables and accessories have an influence. The Ansuz Sortz are not cheap, but they eliminate interference from the components in their place. I’m fascinated by the difference these termination plugs make. Also my result after all other optimizations such as grid protector and ground boxes… Is it enough now? I could still plug in Sortz on the mono power amplifiers. ![]()

Your mean something like this (bought from Costco a few months ago on a temporary basis until I find the right one):
This picture was taken from a different angle to minimize the daytime glare on the 333 in my room (I have two windows 16 feet high directly behind my listening position). In person, the component’s black colors don’t look that different from each other.
Exactly, can you hear a different sound quality, image focused and more pleasant voices?
If so you can find the right fabric and/or even consider to remove the screen.
Yes, better with it covered.
My TV is on a stand and I could remove it easily with my previous setup, not so easy now. Really do enjoy watching Star Trek and listening to “Space. The final frontier…” and the Enterprise wooshing across the soundstage.
The overall result is what counts. I also have my TV between the speakers and it’s a lot of fun to experience films with the sound from the system. ![]()
Placing the rack in the middle was a visually good decision. And if no longer cable or relocation of the socket was necessary, all the better. ![]()
I rarely comment on components but these two hold a special admiration for me. Thus I offer my two cents.
I owned a P20 for over 5 years. I felt it was the best component I ever owned given what it added to my various system’s sonic qualities; and, its unique quality, that other components don’t possess, being I would never have to replace or upgrade it. I can honestly say that I would still be very happy with it.
I have been using my Power Zone for 12 months, while I now take it for granted (he admitted shamefully), when I stop to think about it, I am amazed how extremely happy I am with it. It has brought bliss to my listening. Full disclosure, I am a Gryphon fanboy.
I am experiencing all the sonic qualities that Luca, Paul, Al and others have written about. I won’t be going back to the P20 but I do occasionally think of it fondly.
Does the PZ protect gear against power surges, which I believe the power plants do?
Question: With all of these claims of remarkable improvements from the use of a Gryphon Power Zone, at least some of them should be measurable, yes? I’m not a numbers reveal all guy, but if there’s more treble or deeper bass or greater dynamics, you should be able to show that at the preamp outputs or the power amp outputs. Has anyone done that?
$14,000 can buy a lot of tubes!
This view is becoming more common amongst us.
Mine found a new home in the Madison area.
No, it doesn’t even have a fuse. The power plants provide voltage regulation and some protection. The PZ just provides a harmonized sound based on quantum something…
Here is a link to my recent review.
You should not consider the PowerZone in the power conditioner category as it is its own thing. It is a power conditioner, yes, but it is way more than that and includes less of what power conditioners usually bring
The questions:
“Has anyone compared it to…”
and
“Has anyone measured…”
DO NOT APPLY!
The sooner you accept this, the happier I will be.
I am sorry, but this is the truth.
Measuring the PZ is like asking to measure the dynamic range of the last Paolo Fresu album before listening to it!
The joy of music, this is the unique parameter you can apply with the PZ.
I do measure the dynamic range of every CD and digital file before playing it. (Since about five years ago) To do this with vinyl I have to make a recording of it and I got tired of doing that. Each LP takes a couple of hours to get it right. At least for me.
I’ve measured with my ears and they are very pleased. Much more exciting than reading about a measurement from a device. Hearing is believing.
It’s like measuring an erection before making love
