I would find that a nuisance.
I think so, also.
my regards to my mate Graz!
I have Graz mid-range and tweeter ribbons in my speakers. I replaced them a little less than a year ago and a previous time many years ago.
He is making some custom EMIMs (soon LEMIM) for my IRS Beta speakers!
Cool!!!
I think the dealer’s taste or other things played a role. The dealer I know is one of the larger ones in Germany when it comes to B&W sales. He likes to favor AVM and Accuphase as amplifiers. McIntosh also has it, but he probably doesn’t like the sound of it. Classe and then Michi/Rotel were probably the brands that B&W worked with. He probably wasn’t convinced about Classe either. Michi S8 and especially the M8 mono power amplifiers have almost the highest performance ever measured in the test. The only limit for the M8 is the fuse in the house connection. Michi is quite dynamic but sounds quite bright and thin. Get under control with suitable cables. The B&W are more on the dissolving side. The B&W can usually handle a lot of power. It is important that the amplifier can supply enough current and a high damping factor can be helpful. A good used device is often the better choice if your budget is limited. How much can it cost? Did I miss something… Greetings Andreas
