'I Like the Music, But Not the Musician'

Amen brother.

I can’t stand all that rhetoric, literally drives me nuts, all based on fear and lies, people just aren’t educated enough to be able to research the reality.

Think I might listen to Radio Kaaos later - the usual complete lack of subtlety, and I usually have to turn it off before the last couple of tracks, but the production is really nice

WHich just makes me think of this:

(americans and others, you may not have seen this - it really worth watching  )

Edit - seems to have been scrubbed from YouTube, there is this Facebook hosted video:

And this Youtube “de-copyrighted” version

Um, no…

I understand that politics can be a problem on any forum and in any topic, but I agree with Al. Bootzilla’s post does fit the title of this topic.

I agree, Mr. Zilla’s post is on topic.

My request to stay on topic merely happens to be directly after his.

Carry on!

I quit listening to one band, whose music I quite enjoyed, when they made what I viewed as disrespectful comments in an inappropriate setting. I’ll refrain from details that would likely result in Elk’s disapproval
Quite a few years down the road it will take something a bit more egregious or I’d probably have very little left to listen to. But I still can’t bring myself to listen to that one band.

While I do not know to what you refer, it is likely your story is perfectly fine. If you are concerned, send me a PM.

We just want to avoid getting into politics, conspiracy theories, etc.

Thanks much but it’s politics that I’m avoiding.

Got it.

It would be frustrating to lose respect for musicians one otherwise enjoyed.

You do realize that the issue people have here isnt peace vs not peace right? It was really more about the “provoked” claims he made.

I promise you Gary, we aren’t the deep state

Waters is free to express his opinion. I am free to disagree with him where I disagree with him. I’m in concurrence with Elk on one point here: it is my view this thread should be dedicated to our personal opinions of the musicians we’ve loved to dislike for reasons other than their music. I don’t allow the media to dictate what I should think or take away from anything anyone in the music world says, including Waters. The media is rife with bias from every side with a bone to pick. I don’t really care what DW, or Fox, or CNN, or MSNBC, or … opines. Can we move on?

I appreciate there are strong feelings on this topic, but back to music and musicians.

Thanks

And he apologized for that years ago, but it was dug up again because he spoke out about being injured by a certain medical treatment. So it was conveniently used to demonize him.

With apologies to @elk - clapton was never forgiven for that outburst around here (north west UK) nor amongst the musicians of Rock against Racism.
As for Putin and Zelensky and WW 3?

Thing is, I don’t trust any of them, not Putin, Zelensky, Biden, Sunak, not Starmer, not trump (I mean, really) and most certainly not the various corporate entities that bankroll them, because they all want a weaker or stronger form of capitalism, because they all think they can control capitalism to their benefit. Meanwhile capitalism unchained is busy eating us all and much of what remains of any semblance of decency that is left in public/official life, and will definitely end up being the cause of the “next big war”.

There, I said it

Music, on the other hand, is cool, and thank goodness for it.

I shall not be mounting a defence of my anti-capitalist views, because it’ll pollute these pages, and I’m probably not clever enough anyway
