I am going to visit Vitus in Herning Denmark, who has made a whole new listening room.
Vitus Audio truly is a great name in the industry. Best of high end got the chance to interview the leading man and visionair Hans-Ole Vitus. In this first part we asked him: ‘What was your motivation to become a manufacturer of audio equipment?’.

Of course, I am also waiting for what happens to the PS audio front with speakers

If you have a tip for which speaker I should listen, please turn it on.

They may seem a little “low brow” considering the speakers you’re interested in, but I would check out the Paradigm Persona 9H. I heard a demo a couple months ago and they blew my mind, they sounded so good. They sounded great with anything we threw at them. They are one of the only pleakers I’ve heard that I though absolutely would not benefit from a subwoofer. Clear, agile, incredible bass, and show no fatigue when pushed. They are listed at $35,000 a pair, a relative bargain, IMO. From what I’ve heard, they sounded better than any Sonus Faber or Magico I’ve had the luck to audition. Check out their review in TAS:

Thanks and I do not know. It is not the size of the speakers that are of crucial importance to me. That’s the sound. Now I just want to see where I can hear them. Just get well brand and size is irrelevant. Thanks bro

(If I come with suggestions please be aware that I have two PS Audio BHK Signature 250 for this use)

The construction and demolition of my Infinity is under way. I just put a set of the IMF up. I want to play for a while with a set of IMF RSPMs. They do not need DSP lol. I usually use tubular amplifiers with KT88 or KT120, but now I will try to drive with my PS Audio BHK Signature 250 on here for a while and I will find the speakers that will follow me for the next 15 years.

Very nice.

What brand is that tonearm? I looked at their website, but could not find it. Looks interesting.

So that’s your summer home equipment, huh? Oy. cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon_gif

Here is the arm of the old Infinity gramophone…lol “SS”
It was quite advanced for its time, with both an air-bearing platter and a unique air-bearing linear tonearm The turntable was designed by Bruce Thigpen (who subsequently founded Eminent Technology) Bascom King had such a model - Model No. 3 out of 10 pieces that were made in total lol

I am building a small hifi cabin 20 sqm behind the cottage on which will be done soon. Next to the cottage is 2 pieces Devialet Gold Phantom for the wife's television. That's what she wants. lol. The speakers on the TV are a set of Proac 2.5 or 3.8. Remember find in a set of 3.8 then buy them they are world class.

That’s enough, Michael! I’m officially inviting myself to stay in your cabin!!

It’s funny you mentioned the Kii THREE speakers. I’m obsessed with those. They have such and interesting design. I’m sure more and more speakers like it will follow. All I’ve seen are glowing reviews. Have you heard them? I haven’t had the pleasure yet.

I can tell you that my Danish friend Mads in about 3 months comes with 3 new speakers. They get some bad DSP features, etc. I may not tell so much about the speakers at the time. But they do not cost as much as the others. You can keep eyes here.

Yes I’ve heard them and they play seemed cool. But they are quite expensive in our country as we have high tax and VAT. But I intend to test them in my little studio up against my JBL 4355. It’s a little unfair hehe. But it may be in the new year since I have some other tasks that just have to be completed first.

Jeez, those JBL’s are MONSTERS! I wonder if they have much bass, at all? 107_gif

It can be difficult to answer when you connect two JL Audio Fathom subs, on your speaker lol. I usually use servo bass as http://www.rythmikaudio.com/. You may try to form an indent by searching for your tube Kenrick Sound JBL 4355 lol

Ain’t that the truth! My Fathoms are booming and my wife yells downstairs and I’m like, “Whaaaaaat? I can’t heeeeeaaar yooouuuu!” smiley-music005_gif

That YouTube video with the Kendrick Sound JBL 4355 is hilarious!! Such a small room with such huge speakers!

Lol bro … With a trip at Kendrick Sound, they cost … f … They have to be handed over at the beginning of the new year to another JBL lover in DK, as I am driving down gear. … Think that B & W builds loudspeakers to the extent your have needed two sub … lol - amazing. I often play church organ music when I play with bass area. It chases to rule the woman away. M.H.T room size It’s a good idea that many great speaker systems that are exposed to a good example are Pouls Infinity IRS V lol so we may buy some more PS equipment to get a room that fits the speakers. God knows how little or how much energy that room can withstand?

A little HIFI sauce from Sweden lol

I love my Von Schweikerts. I purchased a pair of VR-4.5s in 1998 and over the years have consistently thought the Von Schweikert speakers sound among the best at audio shows. Many reviewers have agreed. In the 2012 Newport Show I asked Albert Von Schweikert if it was possible to upgrade my old VR-4.5s to the VR-5 Anniversary. It surprised me when he replied “Sure, just contact me and we’ll work out the details.” He subsequently proposed an irresistible price which I immediately accepted. I personally delivered my speakers to him at his Riverside shop. I was expecting just an upgrade of a few select components but was astounded that he completely gutted the entire cabinet, installed and custom calibrated all new technology parts and materials, and even refurbished the cabinet exterior. What I got was much better than a VR-5 Annie. Albert said they were “astonished” at the superior sound of my speakers and that they outperformed any other speaker they have heard short of the mega-buck range. He compared my speakers to his $90K VR-9SE Mk2 saying that those speakers are only “a tad better, and the difference is pretty small.” He also said the larger cabinet proportions of the VR4.5s allowed him to tune to 16Hz for my organ music and that the speakers sounded like they have 15-inch bass drivers. The clunky VR-4.5 treble and bass module cabinet size is indeed larger than most of the modern, more living room friendly cabinet designs; but I’m fine with that. I’d much rather they sound spectacular than just look like a piece of sculpture.

I tell this story not to brag about my loudspeakers, but to convey some universal lessons learned. 1) There are in this world of commerce audio designers/sellers like Albert Von Schweikert (and his son) who truly and abundantly care for their individual customers, including those of modest means like me. At their shop I was the most important person in the world even though I don’t have deep pockets. 2) Look for ways to make wise use of and improve what you may already have. 3) Look for and creatively take advantage of unique opportunities that pop up to achieve superior sonics at reasonable prices (that of course includes PS Audio products, especially with the trade-in program). 4) Don’t assume you have to pay mega bucks for mega buck performance.

Below is a photo I took of Albert in his shop leaning on one of my retrofitted speakers.

Great story Joseph.
