“Hive mind”, in this instance, is my reference to “collective cooperation”, in that all the robo cars AI work together in solving the traffic flow, whereas, just a few won’t improve anything. As to no more asphalt, we’re on the same page.
Your article reminded me of what I had read a month or so ago in a local blog. The link is good. It just doesn’t show the post in the preview.

A movie and accompanying music are soon to be released.
A.I. just keeps marching on into ‘relevance’…
Good grief - is nothing sacred?
Anything in particular I should turn to…?
Nope, just generally a good read. I have been a subscriber for a long time.
I am also a big fan of Charlap.
Eventually it aims to introduce tailored versions of its product for use in audio recording kit, voice interfaces for cars, smart speakers, augmented and virtual reality, sonar and hearing aid devices.

I saw MTT conduct the NY Philharmonic two years go at the David Geffen Hall. He took the time to briefly explain to the audience his health condition, then went on to discuss the upcoming piece he was going to lead. He was a bit slower, and definitely more frail than I expected, but Thomas was funny and still had his ‘chops’.
Having grown up with him all my life, I always picture him as this youthful, vibrant conductor who was especially proud of his "Young Peoples Concerts’. I give this man a lot of kudos for hanging in there with grace and dignity.
