Looking for options to re-rip my CD and SACD collection and get a NAS

My new streamer MU2 reveals, sadly, no difference in ripped files anymore (used to between DSD and AIFF). I doubt the new streamer was the problem. Hmm, I’ll stop wasting storage from now on.

Save space for all the SACDs you’ll rip soon!

Nah, I need to get out of chair looking for discs once for a while.

By the way, don’t forget to dust off your vinyl collection to get rid of spider webs on weekends😆

Another vote for AIFF for redbook, and yes take the time to rip the SACDs

I agree. I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t really matter in what format you’ve stored your files, provided you’ve paid sufficient attention to isolating the ‘noise’ associated with the computing processes required to get the contents of your files into a (bit-perfect) stream for presentation to your DAC!

If you’re of a similar mind then you may as well choose a (lossless) format where the metadata is arranged to suit your needs.

I meant not compressed to MP3 or whatever. I want the same resolution as the source disc
