Luxman m900u comes alive when not plugged into P20

Although not the number 16…my number 8 is one hell of an amp. 150-watts Class A/B into 8 Ohms and 300 watts Class A/B into 4 Ohms. The first 18 watts are pure class A. Truth be told it’s the finest amp I have ever owned. It does so many things right it has to be heard to believed. There is a purity of sound to it that has made all of my previous amps sound broke by comparison. And the icing on the cake is I barely ever use more than 5 to 6 watts to reach my spl threshold.

I love my 2 Plinius SA 103s, used as bridged monoblocks.
400W into 8 ohms, 730W into 4 ohms, and one third of this in class A.
Up to 100 Amps short term current delivery.

Was listed in Stereophile recommended components, class A.´

Power consumption 400W times 2 continuous, but there is a button to activate class A. I use it for serious listening only. For background music, class AB is fine, with much lower power consumption and heat generation. Very useful in the summer !!

They also have ground lifts to avoid hum.

I drive them with the Plinius Tautoro preamp.

A magic combination with my demanding B&W 800D2s.

Many of the fine amps discussed in this thread are direct competitors to the BHK 250 or 300.

Anyone have direct head2head comparisons between your amp and the BHKs that you can share?

Maybe since you are on this forum some of you moved on from BHK to what you have now or vice versa??

As one who will be in market for an amp in this price range soon, and since BHK nowhere available for audition without prior purchase, interested in others’ direct experience.

Although I have never owned a PS Audio amp…

The amps that I have owned in the past were the Music Reference RM-9 Mk.II…the Edge NL-10… and the most recent one…before purchasing the Coda… the Merrill Audio Veritas mono blocks.

All of the above mentioned amps were very nice indeed… and served my needs well…but none of them are in the same ball park as the Coda 8. It is a very special unit…at least for my musical tastes used in my system.

I must say… I also own the Coda Technologies O7x line stage and it takes the whole of my system to the moon…superb would be an under statement!

By the way…Terry London reviewed the 16…8…and O7x and his reviews are spot on. Easily found online!

Good luck in your search kzk…

I have owned a pair of bhk300. Fantastic amps. Nicely built. Lots of power and dynamics. Big soundstage presentation. Fully satisfying piece of audio. A truly masterpiece for the price.

When compared to áudio research 160m (2x the price), they showed less finesse. Also, the microdynamics of the audio research were better, although the amps sounded “slower” on transients than the BHK.

The Nagras are a whole other world (but at 6x the asking price).

Again, for the price, you can’t go wrong with the BHKs.

Hi Al Angen, I also have Antileon Evo and Pandora. Planning to buy a P20 but was afraid if it could handle the current demand. But now I have your example. So, ordering the P20 thru my dealer here. Fingers crossed.

The Pandora arrived today. With it, the Antileon Evo, Kalliope DAC, Pink Faun server, two REL subs and a Jay’s Audio CD transport the load is just over 1000 watts with the Antileon at full output. Setting the Antileon to mid drops it considerably. I haven’t hooked up the green cable yet.

The P20 slumbers with this gear. You have chosen well!
Enjoy!
