Matrix X-SPDIF 2

I wish we could do a double-blind shootout of, say, @cudfoo’s Wireworld Silver Starlight HDMI (1m = $350), @cardri’s Nordost Valhalla 2 HDMI (1m = $3,000), my OneConvey HDMI (1m = $11), and @tedsmith’s Radio Shack HDMI (price unknown) cables.

Hey, don’t forget AQ mocha in that super-test

All these comparisons depend on the rest of the system. The Nordost is probably at the top of the heap if the rest of the system measures up. Nordost sounds a bit thin and analytic IMHO.

Nordost not for me then

I just don’t care to hear it when the cello player burps. LOL

I tried the Convey, BJC, assorted HDMI cables I had lying around, RS toslink and a glass toslink I got on Amazon. The WW HDMI destroyed them all. My eyes were closed for all the auditions if that counts…

Thanks for the report. Which WW? And in what way was it better than the Convey?

I tried the LanRover, it was very unstable, unreliable, constant problems. Thankfully was still in the PSA return window, so it went back. At the time, PSA confirmed it was a problematic device, so I would be leery buying one used or without a return policy.

My Lanrover sat in a closet for more than a year before I traded it in for something I really needed. It was a loser, from the start. -Sorry I recommended it to you, but just trying to help.

Hit the nail on the head! The shootout would have to occur on every single system in which each cable is installed to crown a winner - but a winner only in that individual system. That is what is great about system synergy as well as what sucks about system synergy. Reviews and testimonials are a guide, but nothing can substitute a trial run in a unique system dependent on an array of other interconnects and components.

WW Starlight Silver - in every way imaginable. Cable Co. gives you a 30 day trial so there’s no risk other than the fact that you’ll be out $350 once you hear them. I’ve heard their less expensive cables are good also.

That’s WW silver starlight 7, right?

Hey dancingsea - just got back from your islands. Beautiful as always. So I went to the matrix USA page and have filled out two forms in the ‘contact us’ link and I get no response. Did you have an actual email address? Thanks Tim

Correct.

Try 732 803 1904. Leave a message and the owner will get back to you.

Edit (to make this a more politely worded question) do you know if they are extending the 10% off, second, would you skip the bridge 3 if you went this route?

Arthur is the owner of the USA distributor…

Because they ran out during the sale, I simply asked if they would honor the 10% off. And they did, no problem. Provided me with a coupon that I used at checkout.

Sweet, thanks!

I’m surprised no one has mentioned any of the Pangea HDMI cable offerings. They appear to offer some of the highest quality to price ratios. The HD23PC Premier SE for example uses Cardas Grade One copper which is comparable/better than Ohno cast or PCOCC, plus has 6% silver plating and built like a tank. For $69.95 for a 1M seems like a good comparison for some of the more expensive cables.
