I guess I agree that via the Uptone 7 volts sounds BAD.
Via the Keces P8 power supply 7 volts has to do as I can’t change it now that I ordered it that way.
Edit: I see today is my one year anniversary of joining in here. It feels more like nine months, two weeks and three days.
You could always ket a Revelation Audio Lab Two headed USB-A cord separate power and data to power off the USB-A out on Keces P8 To the combined USB-B end versus using the 6 to 9 V power input.
Just have to wait for Brad to not send it until you threaten him or buy on used market. Bootzilla runs one.
God wrought pure light into the finest cable, forging forth any impurities thereof. Thereupon God cloaked his work in a sheath made from the dark matter of space.
Hooking the creations twixt his amps and speakers, he sat and listened. Intently- and it was good.
Answer (to my question on recommended voltage) directly from Matrix Audio:
“The recommended voltage of external power supply for X-SPDIF2 is 6V.
The required voltage input range is 6-9V, 6V can work stably, and the higher voltage will turn into heat, so that X-SPDIF2 maybe more warmer, but if above 9V may damage the device.“
I too took the Jitterbugs out of the system when I got the Matrix. I felt it sounded worst with it in. But I still kept the Ifi Purifier 3 in line filter in because I do hear a subtle improvement with it in.
