Matrix X-SPDIF 2

I kept the W4S RUR in the chain with the Matrix as it sounded a tad better to me.

Ted,

Can you explain, alil more, what you mean here by the matrix is a reclocker? I’m trying to understand exactly what the matrix is doing and why it’s making DOP files sound better even if they are not converted to DSD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks,

Ryan

Sounds way better than before. I haven´t used my PC for a long time for any serious listening, only Netflix, youtube etc…but after installing new drivers sound got a lot better. Thanks for letting us know they were available.

The Manual explains

IN the case of the DS the differences the Matrix makes are probably less related to clocking than with other DACs. The DS is relatively less sensitive to jitter than most other DACs.

I suspect that the Matrix is better mostly because it is well built, shields other devices from USB noise and provides good solid grounding side stepping the worst issues with USB. The DS uses a very similar USB implementation to the Matrix, but it’s inside the DS’s box and doesn’t have electrical and EMI shielding to protect the rest of the DS from the noise. The Matrix keeps all of that noise away from the DAC.

Is underwood hifi a registered dealer of WW cables?..I get nervous about purchasing these cables from non-registered dealers.

Yes, Walter is an authorized dealer for everything he sells and even owns some of the companies.

I can’t seem to find underwood in the wireworld dealer listing…im not saying it’s not there…I just can’t find it.

I bought a Wire World sub cable from Walt last year on his recommedation. Am happy with cable.

I feel like the question still isnt being answered lol

Call him yourself and ask him. He’s in Hawaii so still up for hours.

Seems like an odd question to ask a person. When of course the answer will be yes.

I just don’t understand why underwood hifi isn’t listed as a registered dealer on the wireworld website. Why isn’t underwood listed? I’m not insinuating anything…I’m just asking the question.

Wireworld also has this on their website:

Simple, send an email to WW, get answer straight from them. While you are writing, ask them for a deal.

I actually just did - ill report back when I hear something.

If you don’t want to believe the dozens of us who have bought from Walter and are assuming up front that he will lie to you then you’re better off taking your business to one of the other higher price dealers anyhow.

I don’t believe - anything…I just don’t have all the information. After I hear back from WW with the go-ahead I will buy from him immediately.

You stated clearly that he would say yes no matter what the truth was so you do have a preconceived notion.

“When of course the answer will be yes.”

hmm…

I don’t think it’s out of the question to hear back from WW. I have no preconceived notion - he is just an unknown commodity to me and I’m protecting myself. If you have purchased from him and you are happy with his products then - great.

There is no harm in me asking WW before purchasing. If he is not a dealer, I personally will not purchase…I’m not going to tell other people to not purchase. This is a personal decision.

Yes it is a personal decision and you should have gotten the facts first from Wireworld directly before insinuating on a public forum that Walter was not going to be truthful and even hint at the fact that he could be selling counterfeit cables. I don’t think after almost 40 years in the Audio business he would start now. Now that you have been challenged you want to walk it back just like with your Ebay scam thread.
